A decision tree diagram is a graphical representation of decisions [that] includes the potential consequences of those decisions. A decision tree consists of nodes, branches, root nodes, and leaf nodes. Each node represents a decision made, or a test conducted on a specific attribute. Each branch represents the possible results or consequences of each decision. The root node is the starting point, which represents the first decision made. The leaf nodes represent the final results or conclusions. 2, record 1, English, - decision%20tree%20diagram

When a tree seed germinates, the first(primary) root grows down in the soil in response to gravity. Secondary roots then branch off horizontally, with subsequent branching into tertiary roots, etc. Absorption of water and mineral nutrients is the function of the very fine, non-woody roots(the feeder roots). With continued growth, each root will lose its ability for absorption. These larger woody roots then function as the transport system for water and nutrients from the new feeder roots to the stem. They are also the tree's system of anchorage and a food storage area. The resulting system thus consists of several main transport roots that extend radically and horizontally from the tree base and divide into ever smaller roots, each ending in a dense mass of fine feeder roots. 2, record 2, English, - feeder%20roots

1, record 2, French, - racine%20non%20ligneuse

Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, Chief Information Officer Branch. This document, The Business Problem Assessment, is the first of the two primary deliverables of the Vision Phase of strategic design and planning for the Government of Canada(GC) Information Management(IM) Program Transformation Initiative. It answers the question :“What is wrong with IM today?” Serious problems with IM in government are documented in many authoritative sources(see Appendix D : Reference Materials). The Business Problem Assessment summarizes the results of a broad collaborative process to review these sources, consolidate, confirm, and elaborate upon these and other known problems, uncover any missing ones, and analyse them to discover their root causes. It provides the motivating reasons for designing and planning a transformed IM Program. Its aim is to make executives, managers and staff sufficiently aware of issues with the status quo to accept the need for concerted change. 1, record 9, English, - Information%20Management%20in%20the%20Government%20of%20Canada%3A%20The%20Business%20Problem%20Assessment

1, record 9, French, - Gestion%20de%20l%27information%20au%20sein%20du%20gouvernement%20du%20Canada%20%3A%20Une%20%C3%A9valuation%20des%20probl%C3%A8mes%20op%C3%A9rationnels

It answers the question :“Where do we want to go with IM tomorrow?” It is the logical follow-on to The Business Problem Assessment(BPA) for IM in the GC, the first primary deliverable of the Vision Phase, which answers the question :“What is wrong with IM today?” The Vision proposes improvements to address the root causes of business problems as identified in the BPA. 1, record 10, French, - La%20gestion%20de%20l%27information%20au%20sein%20du%20gouvernement%20du%20Canada%20%3A%20La%20vision

In addition, wrapping and painting reduce sunscald, a trunk injury which may lead to frost cracking in future years. ’Frost cracks’ start from old wounds resulting from trunk injury, branch stubs, basal sprouts or root death. 1, record 11, English, - frost%20crack

The term crown as generally used in horticulture designates that part of a plant at the surface of the ground from which new shoots are produced. In trees or shrubs with a single trunk, the crown is principally a point of location near the ground surface marking the general transition zone between stem and root. In herbaceous perennials, the crown is the part of the plant from which new shoots arise annually. The crown of herbaceous perennials consists of many branches, each being the base of the current season's stem, which originated from the base of the preceding year's branch. 3, record 13, English, - crown%20leaf
