A compression rib at the root of an aerofoil, or at the point of attachment to the centre section of a wing.

CONT

The wing butt rib is normally the heavily stressed rib section at the inboard end of the wing near the attachment point to the fuselage. Depending on its location and method of attachment, a butt rib may be called a bulkhead rib or a compression rib, if it is designed to receive compression loads that tend to force the wing spars together.

Stator shroud for an aircraft turbine engine module, intended radially toward the inside to delimit a primary flow passing through the turbine engine, this shroud having an overall U-shaped cross section of which the two branches of the U extend substantially in an inward radial direction from the base of this U, the shroud having a number of perforations each intended to accept the root of a stator vane, each perforation being made through the base of the U.

Se entiende por arraigo el estado de una planta con relación al suelo que la sustenta, después de su plantación, en el que el sistema radical adquiere plena funcionalidad y desarrollo, es decir, es capaz de absorber agua y elementos nutritivos del suelo. No es lo mismo arraigo que enraizamiento, entendiéndose por este la aparición de nuevas raíces. Si una planta no arraiga, morirá cuando termine sus reservas.
