Description of a stock's price movement if it reaches, on two different occasions, the same high price. For example, on two occasions in the past year or so, a stock rose to 42. Technical analysts see the double-top price as a resistance level. Hence, a subsequent rise above this price is a sign of a continued rise in price. 2, record 1, English, - double%20top

2, record 1, French, - double%20sommet

In the late 1930s, the theory was advanced that it is impossible to predict future movements of securities prices because too many variables affect price movements. However, it was observed that bond prices tended to move in the opposite direction to common stock prices. Thus a plan was evolved by which the investor automatically sold stocks and bought bonds when stock prices rose and vice versa when stock prices fell. This plan was first called the cyclical switch. 2, record 2, English, - cyclical%20switch
