1, record 25, French, - c%C3%A9r%C3%A9ale%20d%27automne

Tillage is the oldest and still widely used method of controlling weeds but the use of herbicides has increased dramatically in recent years. With tillage, the timing, depth of tillage, and choice of implements used, all require the exercise of good judgment. However, tillage often increases the risk of wind and water erosion because of its adverse effects on soil structure and its partial destruction of trash cover. Tillage is most effective when used in combination with other measures, such as timely application of selective herbicides, sowing of barley and rye as competitive crops, and seeding fields to forage crops. 1, record 26, English, - trash%20cover

1, record 26, French, - couverture%20de%20d%C3%A9bris%20v%C3%A9g%C3%A9taux

A traditional bread type of West Germany is known as pumpernickel... This bread originated in Wesphalia and is made from a coarse rye meal, often flavoured with caraway and sour, and baked in steam for long periods of from five to six hours. The dough pieces are batched together for baking. This produces a heavy, dark and extremely well-keeping bread with a pronounced sour flavour. Commercially, pumpernickel is made in large 4 to 4. 5 kilogram units and then sliced and packaged in smaller units. 1, record 33, English, - pumpernickel

1, record 39, English, - depth%20of%20tillage

1, record 39, French, - profondeur%20du%20labour

Wireworms, which have a life span of up to 10 years, attack all cereal crops, particularly wheat and spring rye. They are most troublesome in light prairie soils. They may often be held in check by periodic summerfallowing and keeping fallow land clean to destroy the food supply of the long-lived larvae. For immediate and effective control, infested fields are sown with seed treated with an insecticide. 3, record 62, English, - wireworm

Differences in the composition of Polish "Starka" vodka and Russian vodka, due to different technologies, were demonstrated by sensory tests and chemical analyses. Polish "Starka" is a whisky-type vodka, produced from non-rectified rye spirit stored for greater than or equal 10 years in oak barrels. Due to this, the content of acids, esters and tannin matter is about 5 times higher than in the Soviet vodka, also, the fusel oil content is higher and is near to the fusel oil content in whisky. "Starka" production has 3 phases : raw rye spirit production, maturation of the spirit in oak barrels and compounding the matured spirit.(Pascal data base). 2, record 91, English, - matured%20spirits

All other forms of the grass inflorescence may be derived from the paniculate type by a process of simplification due to contraction, condensation and reduction.... The third stage is on in which the spikelets become sessile on the main axis, thus producing a spike of spikelets. This arrangement is well seen in all the Hordeae, and is exemplified in the cereals by barley, rye and wheat. 1, record 93, English, - spike%20of%20spikelets
