facilitation : Il arrive assez souvent que, à la suite d'une sommation spatiale, la membrane d'un neurone postsynaptique soit dépolarisée jusqu'au seuil d'excitation par le potentiel postsynaptique excitateur produit à plusieurs synopses excitatrices. Il en découle qu'une dépolarisation moindre permettra quand même à l'axone d'atteindre le seuil d'excitation si d'autres potentiels post-synaptiques excitateurs surviennent.
