[T] hat which contains the particulars of a deed, etc., and is the instrument registered, in the case of a deed which must be registered. The registration of a deed or other document is effected by leaving it at the registry together with a memorial under the hand and seal of one of the parties to the deed. The memorial is an abstract of the material parts of the deed, with the parcels at full length, and concludes with a statement that the party desires the deed to be registered. The execution of the deed and memorial is proved by the oath of an attesting witness.(Jowitt, 2nd ed., 1977, p. 1171). 1, record 11, English, - memorial

To this point, the words ’enrollment’, ’registration’, and ’recording’ have been used interchangeably. The "Statute of Enrollments" required enrollment, and the "Middlesex Act" required registration. Both of these procedures are the same and are satisfied by a memorandum or memorial included in the public records stating the names of the grantor and of the grantee of the instrument, and the interest purportedly transferred. Recording requires that a complete copy of the instrument be included in the public records. (Mapp, 1978, p. 48). 1, record 11, English, - memorial

Most vinyl roofing membranes are sealed using hot air, which can be compared to welding metal. The process joins two rolls of membranes at the overlap areas(without using another dissimilar material) to create one monolithic layer that covers the entire roof. The heat-welded, permanently fused seams on vinyl roofing membrane form a watertight seal, and their peel strength can be critical to the roof system's long-term performance against wind forces. 3, record 16, English, - monolithic%20layer

ROOF technology allows old roof membrane to be renewed without removal. ROOF technology is based upon a thermochemical treatment of bitumen roof coating. With heat applied to a section of roof coating bitumen and bituminiferous mastics start melting. Imbued with own bitumen, roof coating gains improved waterproofing capabilities. Once cooled such coating becomes a tough monolithic layer, smooth and watertight. 4, record 16, English, - monolithic%20layer

Hot-applied rubberized asphalts consist of proprietary blends of asphalt, mineral fillers, elastomers (natural, synthetic, or a blend of both), virgin or reclaimed oil and a thermoplastic resin. It is applied hot in such a manner as to form an impermeable monolithic membrane over the surface to be waterproofed, which may be concrete, gypsum board or wood. Flashings are used to make watertight any roof area where the roof membrane terminates, is interrupted, or intersects an area or projection having a marked change in slope or direction... Flashings are generally divided into two categories : base flashings and counterflashings. Base flashings are, in a sense, a continuation of the membrane, turned up onto a surface that is in a different plane from the field of the roof, and installed as a separate operation. They are usually fabricated using a nonmetallic material, such as an asphalt-coated felt. Counterflashings, or cap flashings, can be of metal, coated felt, or other materials. They shield and seal the exposed edges of the base flashing. The combined use of non-metallic materials for base flashings and metal for counterflashings brings out the best in each material. Bituminous base flashing materials have the same coefficient of expansion and contraction as the roof membrane, and they work together as a unit. They are the only type of material acceptable for use in constructing base flashings. 2, record 17, English, - bituminous%20base%20flashing

Upon reaching the design depth a reinforcing cage is introduced, concrete is placed in the bore and bought up to the required level. The casing is then withdrawn. "Wet" boring also employs a temporary casing through unstable ground and is used when the pile bore cannot be sealed against water ingress. Boring is then undertaken using a digging bucket to drill through the underlying soils to design depth. In band sealing, a pouch mouth is introduced between two moving bands, which are pressed together by heated bars. The heat passes through the bands and into the pouch material, softening it for sealing. As the pouch continues along between the bands, the bands are next pressed together by chilled bars that withdraw heat from the pouch seal through the bands. The bands then progress to release the pouch. Band sealing is fast and widely used for closing pouches filled with product. 3, record 38, English, - band%20sealer

Partial threshold weatherstripping consists of a length of material, triangular in cross-section,(usually metal with a vinyl or closed-cell foam gasket) fastened to the floor on the exterior side of the door. When closed, the door butts against the strip, thus creating a seal even if there is no threshold directly beneath the door. In CATIR-E, 1983, no. 4, p. 33(Canadian Tire "Winter Shopping Guide"), this type of weatherstripping is described as a bumper. 2, record 42, English, - partial%20threshold%20weatherstripping
