Achievements in doctor blade technology have resulted in high quality flexographic printing and pollution prevention through controlled ink transfer from the ink container to the substrate. The average two-roll system with its ink fountain, fountain roller and anilox roll is a veritable open reservoir, exposing large quantities of solvents that are readily evaporated. The chambered doctor blade halts this evaporation. Ink enters the chamber from the reservoir or ink sump by a pump. The ink is held in the manifold area, with a small area exposed to the anilox roll. A doctor blade is positioned to shear off the excess ink as the anilox turns, returning all extra ink to the chamber. A second plastic or metal blade retains the ink within the chamber. The chamber is sealed off completely so that no ink goes beyond the width of the unit. 3, record 8, English, - chambered%20doctor%20blade

Since the enzyme molecule entrapped is not chemically modified, its kinetic behavior in the hollow fiber enzyme reactor could be expected to be the same as that of the free enzyme. However, with hollow fiber reactors in the first category the permeation of substrate into the membrane is often the rate-determining step.... Thus, the apparent Michaelis constant Km(app) is often larger than the Km of the free enzyme. For example, a bacterial alkaline phosphatase entrapped in the outside region of a cellulose hollow fiber had a Km(app) l 700 times larger than the Km of the free enzyme. 3, record 13, English, - hollow%20fiber

La solution à concentrer circule dans les fibres, dans le premier cas. Dans le second cas, le filtrat est «pompé» à travers les fibres, à partir d'une solution agitée. Level-sensing fillers fill containers to a controlled level without sealing the container... Such a filling technique eliminates product recirculation and allows filling to a level in plastic containers which would bulge out or flex inward if pressure or vacuum were applied to the sealed container. A level-sensing filler uses some type of sensing means, typically a flow of very low pressure air. Rising liquid level in the container blocks air flow, triggering a control system that shuts off product flow to the container. 2, record 27, English, - level%2Dsensing%20filling

2, record 27, French, - dosage%20et%20remplissage%20par%20mesure%20de%20niveau

Pressure gravity. This method fills to a level. It is almost universally restricted to filling carbonated beverages. The flow principle is gravity as the force causing flow into the container. Like the gravity vacuum method, which fills by gravity in a vacuum atmosphere, this method fills by gravity in a pressure atmosphere. Product under pressure is held in an integral overhead supply tank on the rotary. Filling valves are mounted in the tank and are opened against spring pressure by the container being lifted to the valve. When the container is sealed to the valve, a mechanical latch opens a charging valve at the top of the valve vent tube which is above the product level in the supply tank.... Fill level is determined when the rising liquid covers a part in the vent tube through which the air in the container is exhausted as product flows in. 3, record 34, English, - pressure%20gravity
