The process of enclosing an article in a protective envelope by heat sealing it within prestretched film and then heating to cause the film to shrink tightly around the article.

Unlike ISO, the Glossary Packaging Terms of the Packaging Institute International doesn’t consider "shrink packaging" and "shrink wrapping" as synonyms, and gives the following different (but very close) definitions for the two terms: - shrink packaging: Producing a package by shrinking plastic film over the object or objects to be packaged. - shrink wrapping: A technique of packaging in which the strains in a plastic film are released by raising the temperature of the film thus causing it to shrink over the package.

A technique for bonding fibers of a web with meltable powders or fibers, using infrared heating, hot air, or hot-calendering.

Thermal bonding is somewhat unique to synthetic, thermoplastic fibers. Here, the fibers are distributed onto belts as webs that are subsequently bonded together with heat.

OBS

Thermally bonded fabric is usually produced by passing loose webs of synthetic fibers through calender rolls or ovens. Calender-bonded fabric is produced using hot calender rolls that press fibers together at selected points(much like film heat sealing) and create patterns of tiny dots of fused fibers that hold the web together. Oven-bonded fabric is produced when the fibers are fused together with hot air wherever they touch one another. Calender-bonded fabric is flat and cloth-like. Oven-bonded fabric is more open and lofty.

Karnak 160 Amphibicaulk is a cold process, heavy bodied, caulk-grade roof cement ideal for sealing leaks in and around asphalt built-up roofs, joints, chimney cracks, skylights, vents, down-spouts and gutters. The dried film retains its flexibility and ductility, so the caulking will resist extreme variations in temperature and weather. Karnak 160 Amphibicaulk may also be used to improve wind resistance on low slope shingle roofs.
