Anodic stripping voltammetry is a method to demonstrate the presence of multiple metals in water. This method is usually applied to investigate the water quality of surface or drinking water or sewage. 3, record 16, English, - anodic%20stripping%20voltammetry
Record number: 16, Textual support number: 2 CONT
Anodic stripping voltammetry(ASV) is the most common of a class of techniques known as stripping electroanalytical methods(SEAM). The defining characteristic of these methods is the preconcentration of analyte at the electrode surface in order to lower the detection limit for that analyte.... Usually a mercury drop or mercury thin-film electrode is employed under forced convective conditions(stirred solution). The preconcentration step is followed by a short time period in which the solution is allowed to quiet(no stirring), following which a potential scan is initiated from the deposition potential in the anodic direction. ASV is well-suited for the determination of trace amounts of many metal contaminants. “Stripping” refers to the characteristic sharp voltammetric waves that occur for metals as they are oxidized out of mercury, in which many metals form amalgams. 2, record 16, English, - anodic%20stripping%20voltammetry

Oxygen from the torch was used to ventilate the space and because of the oxygen-enriched atmosphere, the oxygen reacted with the oil and grease stains on the clothes. 1, record 29, English, - oxygen%2Denriched%20atmosphere

The unwanted movement of yarns in a woven fabric due to the warp and weft yarns slipping over each other. 2, record 33, English, - yarn%20slippage
Record number: 33, Textual support number: 1 OBS
Yarn slippage may occur during garment manufacture, or in garment components during wear, as a result of excessive stress or abrasion. Yarns in a fabric have a greater or lesser tendency to slip depending on factors such as yarn type, weave, ends ands and picks per unit length, fabric weight, and the type of finishing process. 2, record 33, English, - yarn%20slippage
Record number: 33, Textual support number: 2 OBS
There are two major types of seam slippage : 1) When stress is applied to a seam, the yarns in the fabric slip out of the stitching causing an open seam; and 2) When stress is applied to a seam, the yarns in the fabric shift of slide in the weave construction causing seam grinning and fabric distortion. We will refer to the first type as "seam slippage" and the second as "yarn slippage". 3, record 33, English, - yarn%20slippage

Tapes and mechanical seams are much simpler than the types described above and might suffice in certain situations where complete watertightness is not necessary. Single-sided tapes can be applied over the edge of the seam, while double-sided tapes can be used between sheets to be joined. The hot wedge or hot knife method consists of an electronically heated resistance element in the shape of a blade that is passed between the two sheets to be sealed. As it melts the surfaces, roller pressure is applied. An interesting variation is the dual-hot-wedge method, which forms two parallel seams with an unbonded space between them. This space is subsequently pressurized with air and any lowering of pressure signifies a leak in the seam. 1, record 79, English, - pressurized%20dual%20seam%20test

Geomembranes made in situ(ie, at the construction site) are usually continuous(ie, with no seam) and are made by spraying or otherwise placing a hot or cold viscous material onto a substrate. The geomembranes made by spraying are commonly referred to as "spray-applied geomembranes" or "spray-on geomembranes". The base product of the sprayed material is commonly asphalt, an asphalt-elastomer compound... or a polymer such as polyurethane. The sprayed material forms a continuous flexible film with little or no tack after curing. If the material is applied onto an existing surface(ie, earth or concrete) the spray-applied geomembrane is non-reinforced. If the material is applied onto a fabric or geotextile, the resulting membrane is reinforced.... 1, record 85, English, - spray%2Dapplied%20geomembrane
