Nanodrones currently use computer vision and methods to stitch together captured images for localization purposes. These drones often get confused in chaotic areas, lose each other behind walls, and can’t uniquely identify each other. This all limits their ability to, say, spread out over an area and collaborate to search for a missing person. Using the researchers’ system, nanodrones in swarms could better locate each other, for greater control and collaboration. 1, record 4, English, - nanodrone

Cognitive reframing of victimization : Self-comparison and emphasizing the positive aspects of having survived. In research on sexual assault victims, Hagemann(1992) noted that some victims feel better by focusing on how they are now survivors. Thompson(2000) noted that sexual assault victims may initially embrace the term "victim" because it shows that the assault was not their fault. As they deal with their experience, they switch to "survivor" because it reflects strength, recovery, and being a fighter. This seems to help some victims regain control over their lives. When dealing with tough situations, people often need to make sense of what happened and then search for some personal benefit, no matter how negative the event was... 1, record 5, English, - survivor

N. Chomsky describes his pursuit in theoretical terms as a search for universal grammar(or U. G.) U. G. is genetically determined at its initial state(in the organism) and is specified, sharpened, articulated, and refines under conditions set by experience, to yield the particular grammars found in specific groups of individuals(1980, p. 234). A theory of universal grammar is said to be an explanatory theory. To know a language is to be in a certain state of mind/brain : this state is described by a core grammar which consists of certain principles of universal grammar, which are to be discovered by linguists. Thus, Chomsky takes a purely realistic stance : language knowledge is a series of states in the brain... Now he has come to the conclusion that it is more productive to speak of various principles that govern language use. These principles begin in human biology. They determine the kinds of grammar that are available in principle(Chomsky 1979). The principles of U. G. are various subsystems, which go by names like binding theory, control theory, government, theta theory, and the like-each of which features a limited degree of parametric variation. 2, record 35, English, - universal%20grammar

One advantage that a procedural encoding of the grammar... has over pattern-matching schemes in the implementation of fuzziness is its ability to control exactly where words can be ignored.... The amount of fuzziness-how many, if any, words in a row can be ignored-is controlled in two ways. First, whenever a grammar rule is invoked, the calling rule has the option of limiting the number of words that can be skipped. Second, each rule can decide which of its constituent pieces or words are required and how tightly controlled the search for them should be.... Fuzziness... reduce the size of the dictionary because all known noise words do not have to be included. 3, record 38, English, - fuzziness
