The Friends's School Programs aim to foster an interest in art and the National Gallery. The English language Looking at Pictures program began in 1968 followed in 1985 by the French-language Vive les arts! These parallel programs respond to invitations from area elementary schools to show reproductions of art to students in their classrooms.
