The expression "without authority" in paragraphs 75(b), 75(c) and 75(f) of the National Defence Act signifies that the accused person acted or omitted to act with neither the approval of a competent superior nor the sanction of law, practice or custom. If the evidence adduced by the prosecution, taken by itself, tends to show that the accused person acted without authority, a service tribunal may find them guilty unless the person establishes that they had authority.

When using the special service lane to enter Canada, ABTC holders will be required to show the following documents to border services officers : a valid ABTC; a valid passport; a visa, if they are from one of these 10 countries : Chile, Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Peru, the Phillippines, Russia, Thailand and Vietnam. CONT

If a word or symbol is claimed as a mark, simply show the world that it is claimed as a trademark by placing a small "tm"(trademark) or "sm"(service mark) next to the mark. This is not required, but it does help show others that the mark is claimed as an exclusive mark by someone.

CONT

The law is that a word which is in its primary meaning merely descriptive of the goods to which it is applied may not be appropriated as the exclusive trademark of a single seller.

OBS

The general term "mark" is often used in texts as an elliptical variant of "trademark."
