CONT

Plunge routers move up and down on the base, which has spring-loaded arms on either side that allow the user to manually "plunge" the cutting bit down into the material from above... This is necessary when... working on the top of a board(as opposed to the edge), for applications such as fluting, dados and mortices, grooves and rebates, insets, etc. However, plunge base routers can be used for edge work just as well(such as profiling edges with a round-over bit).

CONT

Skylights, chimneys, and roof hatches. Rectangular penetrations can be handled with sheet metal flashings in some cases, and with "preformed" curb flashings in others... The base flashing is rigidly connected to the roof panel with washered screws... The upslope side of a rectangular penetration is a bit more difficult. The panel itself must end a sufficient distance from the penetration to allow room for a cricket, of diverter, to direct the flow of water around the penetration. This cricket flashing must be inserted beneath the upslope panel and sealed to it with butyl tape.

CONT

Cricket flashing. A cricket is a small, sloped structure made of metal and designed to drain moisture away from a chimney. It is usually placed at the back of a chimney. It is important that this structure be weather tight. It is best inspected from close proximity on the roof when possible.

CONT

cricket. 1. Small, false roof or the elevation of part of a roof behind an obstacle, as a watershed built behind a chimney or other roof projection; 2. Watertight flashing over such a construction.

CONT

The wedel turn is the last of the final forms in the American system.

OBS

The skier makes a series of short turns back and forth across the fall line, thrusting the tails of the skis back and forth to do it. The shoulders move back and forth a bit but, in short turns, the shoulder action is hardly noticeable. The optical illusion is that the legs thrust the skis first to one side and then to the other as the body stays motionless.

Made in the form of a Brace Bit, it consists of a cylindrical body, enlarging to a cylindrical nose of larger diameter, with two radial cutters set on either side of a central hole sized from 3/8 to 1 1/2 in. Though capable of making all kinds of round tenons, it is used mainly by wheelwrights for rounding and shouldering spoke tongues. This is done after tapering the end of the spoke with a Spoke Trimmer Bit.

OBS

Mentionnons l'existence d'une tête à tourillonner à diamètre réglable.
