With a few exceptions, instruments are mounted on a panel in the cockpit so that the dials are plainly visible to the pilot or copilot. Instrument panels are usually made of sheet aluminum alloy strong enough to resist flexing. The panels are non-magnetic and are painted with a nonglare paint to eliminate glare or reflection. In aircraft equipped with only a few instruments, only one panel is necessary; in some aircraft, additional panels are required. In such cases the forward instrument panel is usually referred to as the "main" instrument panel to distinguish it from additional panels on the cockpit overhead or along the side of the flight compartment. On some aircraft the main instrument panel is also referred to as the pilot's or copilot's panel, since many of the pilot's instruments on the left side of the panel are duplicated on the right side. 4, record 4, English, - overhead%20panel

Record number: 7, Textual support number: 1 DEF
A specific type of tenosynovitis which involves the tendons of two specific muscles on the thumb side of the hand-the abductor pollicis longus(APL) and the extensor pollicis brevis(EPB). These muscles are located in the forearm and their tendons travel across the wrist(through a "tunnel" termed the first dorsal compartment) on the thumb side to produce movement of the thumb. The walls of the affected tendon sheaths(basically protective coverings for the tendons) become thickened and inflamed. 3, record 7, English, - de%20Quervain%27s%20tenosynovitis
Record number: 7, Textual support number: 1 OBS
The precise cause of de Quervain’s tenosynovitis is unknown. It is thought that excessive friction from overuse of the thumb and wrist (excessive and repetitive gripping and grasping actions) may be a factor, leading to thickening of the tissues in the compartment housing the APL and EPB tendons. For example, cases have been described in bricklayers, those who sew, piano players, fly fishermen, and golfers. It has also been hypothesized that the condition in some cases may be associated with acute injury to the involved area (direct blow to the forearm or wrist, falling on the thumb). 3, record 7, English, - de%20Quervain%27s%20tenosynovitis

A condition brought on by irritation or swelling of the tendons found along the thumb side of the wrist. The irritation causes the compartment(lining) around the tendon to swell, changing the shape of the compartment; this makes it difficult for the tendons to move as they should. After exiting the station from the Russian Pirs docking compartment, Onufrienko and Walz assembled an extension for a Russian cargo boom that had been previously installed on Pirs. They used the operational cargo crane, called Strela 1(Strela is the Russian word for arrow), to get into position to detach and relocate a similar crane temporarily stored on the outside of the Unity-to-Zarya connecting tunnel. Known as Strela 2, this second crane was moved back alongside Pirs and attached to a base point on the opposite side of the docking compartment and airlock at 6 : 31 p. m.

The compartment cooling air fan is located on the APU left side just aft of the generator. The fan is driven by the accessory drive and draws air through a flapper valve mounted on the exterior surface of the APU enclosure left side. Cooling air supplied by the fan from the aft accessory compartment is blown into the system through a bifurcated duct attached to the aft side of the fan housing. This duct diverts a portion of air through the oil cooler and allows the remainder to be used for generator and APU compartment cooling. Air for cooling the generator flows through a crossover duct attached to the blast cap on the end of the generator. Air for cooling the compartment is allowed to escape into the area surrounding the APU by means of a slot in the lower surface of the generator crossover duct. 2, record 17, English, - blast%20cap
