Cords or webbing of silk, nylon, cotton, rayon, or other textile materials which connect the drap surface of the parachute [and paraglider] to the harness.

A paraglider is made up of the wing, rigging(lines), small carabiner, and risers.... Lines. Commonly known as lines(a set of rigging) measuring variously between 0. 4-1. 7 mm, even 2. 2 mm, their high level of strength or weight resistance depends on their thickness and the properties of material used in its construction. They are usually concerned with a protective sheath to guard against ground friction and are made from dyneema, kevlar, spectra, superaramid and so on. The lines attach the wing to risers which in turn are attached to the pilots harness, and extend from the wings downward side in the order specified by the particular manufacturer, gradually tapering off in thickness and number via a series of quick links. Finally they end up in tiny linkages(known as small carabiner) from the risers.

The Lyon Métro is not very deep. Some stations especially on line A and line D(eastern branch) are right below street level with separate entrances for each side platform. A strange construction is Charpennes transfer station where you can change trains from line B to line A towards Perrache without climbing any stairs as the line B platform was built to allow trains theoretically to continue on the line A tracks.

Early elevators were 9. 1 metres long by 9. 4 metres wide, ranged from 15. 2 metres to 18. 2 metres in height and had a storage capacity of about 680 tonnes. Cement piers were used to raise them slightly off the ground to allow for ventilation and help control rodents. They were built with 5. 1 by 15. 2 centimetre wooden planks and 5. 1 by 10. 2 centimetre wooden planks. The 2 x 6's were placed flat side up, one on top of each other and securely nailed with spikes to give strength. This procedure was used for the lower part of the elevator; 2 x 4's were then used in a similar manner until the top of the elevator was reached. This method of construction became known as cribbing.
