What is snowskating?... it's skateboarding on snow. That's just the most basic explanation out there, but of course there a some more variables.... There is the technical side of snowskating that resembles the street style way of skateboarding with its flips and ollies. At the other end of the spectrum there is the surf-like snowskating style like longboards on snow, where you find your way through deep pow in a flow way of riding. The first snowboard was called the Snurfer which was invented around 1964. It consisted of some sort of small surfboard and a rope in front of the board to hold on too. There were no bindings present, so you could say the first snowboard was actually a snowskate. 2, record 10, English, - snowskating

2, record 16, French, - remonte%2Dpente%20%C3%A0%20soucoupes

Gaskets for Glazing. Structural gaskets, made of preformed and cured elastomeric materials, may be used instead of sash for some applications to hold glass in places. Gaskets are extruded in a single strip, molded into the shape of the window perimeter and installed against the glass and window frames. A continuous locking strip of harder elastomer is then forced into one side of the gasket as a final sealing component. Fit and compression of the gasket determine weathertightness. With proper installation, calking is not ordinarily required; but should it be necessary, sealants are available that are compatible with the material of which the gasket is made. Choosing an external breast prosthesis after a mastectomy is one option for women who either elect to wait to have breast reconstruction or who choose not to have the additional surgery. An external breast prosthesis is an artificial breast form that can be worn after a mastectomy to help balance the body and anchor the bra on the side of the mastectomy from riding up, which helps prevent back and neck pain and a sagging shoulder. Breast prostheses are custom-made for most women and are made from several different types of material(such as silicone gel, foam, and fiberfill) that feel similar to natural breast tissue and are usually weighted so they feel the same as the remaining breast. Some prostheses adhere directly to the chest area and others fit into pockets of postmastectomy bras, which are fitted with pockets on the inside to hold the device in place. 1, record 23, English, - external%20breast%20prosthesis

Terrasses de la Chaudière is a complex of government office buildings in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada. The complex was built in 1978 as part of Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau's initiative to see more federal workers based in the Quebec side of the Ottawa River. It was built by developer Robert Campeau and then leased to the government. The complex was named after the nearby Chaudière Falls in the Ottawa River. Today its three towers hold some 6, 500 federal government office workers and houses Department of the Environment, the Department of Indian and Northern Affairs, the Department of Canadian Heritage, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission(CRTC), and several other government entities. The centre also holds a shopping complex, a hotel, and a convention centre. The Central tower of the complex is the tallest in the National Capital Region, at 30 storeys and 124 meters high. 1, record 24, English, - Terrasses%20de%20la%20Chaudi%C3%A8re

The most popular type of milking parlour, worldwide, is the herring-bone parlour. This is on account of its versatility and economical cost of construction... As with the tandem side-gate parlour it also requires the use of an operator pit, but the cows enter in batches and stand at an angle of 30° or 35° to the pit. No side passages are necessary. Cows are normally milked from the side, but in some cases, from between the back legs. Since cows are handled in batches, a slow milker can hold up her batch. It is therefore not advisable for batches to exceed 12 cows. However, in a double-sided milking parlour 12 cows per side, with 12 milking units per side(24/24 parlour), about 308 cows can be milked in two hours. 5, record 26, English, - herringbone%20milking%20parlor

The radiant cut is a beautiful combination of the classic emerald cut and the sparkle of the round brilliant. The radiant cut is similar to the princess cut but is usually(though not always) a more rectangular outline and has blocked corners like those of an emerald cut. The cutting is a combination of the step-cutting of the emerald-cut diamond with some triangular faceting of the brilliant cut. The radiant cut is dramatic as a solitaire but also looks great paired with side stones such as baguettes, trillions, or princess shapes. A radiant-cut stone should be set with special prongs to hold the blocked corners securely. 4, record 33, English, - radiant

There are three ways to tell whether gaffs are sharpened properly. Step 1 : Three ways to maintain climbers : 1. 1. Gauging. This method checks the gaff's length, width, and thickness and the profile of its point.... 1. 2. Plane test. This method may be used with the gauge or independently if the gaffs are sharpened by machine. The test is made by using a soft board to tell whether proper sharpness has been reached. Place the climber with the gaff side down and parallel to the board without applying downward pressure above the gaff. Push the climber along the board. If the gaff is properly contoured and sharpened, it will dig into the wood and hold within approximately one inch. If the climber continues to glide along the board for more than one inch, it needs more honing. 1. 3. Pole cutout. After the climbers have been machine sharpened or gauged(and as often as required thereafter), the gaffs may be tested on a pole. 1, record 35, English, - plane%20test

Cable-Reel Shuttle Cars... were introduced in 1939, the year following the first(battery) shuttle car. Practically all present shuttle cars are powered through cable reels. Reels usually hold 500 ft of cable and, therefore, the maximum haul distance should be kept under 400 ft whenever possible. Cable-reel cars are either standard-hand or opposite-standard-hand models. Standard-hand control means that the seats for the operator, together with the controls, are located on the left front or discharge end of the car similar to the operator's position in an American car or truck. An opposite-hand-control car would have the operator sitting on the right-hand side of the car facing forward when traveling to the discharge point. The cable reel always is located on the side opposite the operator. 1, record 47, English, - cable%2Dreel%20shuttle%2Dcar

A few parts of the house deserve particular attention... around doors and windows... where the wood-frame wall meets the masonry... around doors into unheated attic... There is an easy way to tell whether or not any of the above areas need work.... make yourself a draft gauge. All you need is a metal clothes hanger, a plastic sandwich bag(or a piece of light tissue paper), a pair of scissors and two clothes pins. Cut the sandwich bag down each side and wrap one end over the cross-bar of the clothes hanger. Use the clothes pins to fasten the bag to the bar. Check for drafts, on a cold day, in all suspected areas. Hold the gauge steady by the handle of the hanger with the plastic bag close to the suspected areas. If any breeze is coming in, the movement of the plastic will show you where. 1, record 50, English, - draft%20gauge
