The first type of precision airdrop is a single system called AGAS(Affordable Guided Airdrop System) that uses in-service round cargo parachutes. A detailed knowledge of the wind patterns at the drop location is used to calculate the required flight path and drop point. The flight path is maintained by the system's ability to pull slips which dump air from one side of the canopy. By incorporating wind data with this limited method of steering, the system has proven capable of landing an average of 48 meters away from the intended grid reference when deployed from 13 000 ft above ground level. This accuracy is phenomenal given that the present LF freefall cylinder rarely even hits a large drop zone when deployed from 5, 000 feet above ground evel(AGL). AGAS is the cheapest precision airdrop system presently available.

Il n'y a actuellement qu'un seul système qui permet le premier type de largage de précision, soit le système peu coûteux de largage de précision (AGAS - Affordable Guided Airdrop System). Le système GAS est le système de largage de précision le moins cher actuellement disponible.

When a slope is loaded by the wind, there is a very general pattern to it, which results from the typical "weather pattern. "For example-the prevailing storm pattern in western Canada is from the southwest and this will deposit snow on the northeast side of the mountains(generally). When the weather pattern reverses and we get an "upslope" storm, the weather comes from the east and we will see a "reverse loading" pattern. The transitions are characterized by adjectives bearing on their length(e. g. short, long, sudden, gradual), geometrical shape of the side walls(e. g. splayed, straight, warped, flared, streamlined), by reference to the adjacent structure(e. g. tunnel, valve, gate, inlet, outlet, tail) or by reference to type of flow in the transition length.

Landing gear visual indicators provide the flight crew with definite reference markings that can be physically checked to ascertain the position of the landing gear overcenter links while the airplane is airborne.... The main gear downlock visual indicators... are two red anodize stripes applied to each main gear downlock hinge.... The nosegear downlock visual indicators... consists of red anodize stripe applied to the upper and lower lock link assemblies at the breakover hinge point. When the nosegear is down and locked, a straight red anodize stripe is visible on the top side of the overcenter link when viewed through the peephole in flight compartment floor. When the nosegear is up and locked, a straight line of scotchlite tape is visible on the right side of the overcenter linkage extending across both upper and lower links, when viewed through the peephole in the flight compartment floor.
