Four gates 90° from each other produce four flow lines down the side of the piece, which may be objectionable. To overcome this, a diaphragm gate is used. The inside of the hole is filled with plastic directly from the sprue and acts as a gate. It must be machined out later. A cavesson resembles a heavy, well fitting halter and is the preferred headpiece for longeing (lungeing) English horses. "Breaking" cavessons are generally made of stout leather with heavy metal nosepieces and have straps to fasten them securely and keep them in position because during "breaking" it is often necessary to tug or pull quite hard on the line to control the horse. Lighter, simpler cavessons are also available for the very young horse, the already-trained horse, for use with a bit or bridle, and for use as a dropped noseband. 4, record 18, English, - caveson%20bridle

The traditional cavesson is made from leather but nylon cavessons are also available. A longeing(lungeing) cavesson has a padded noseband with a jointed metal nosepiece that usually has 3 swivel-mounted rings attached to it. Generally the middle ring is used for longeing(lungeing) unless a horse carries his head to the outside of the circle extremely. In that case, the inside cavesson ring can be used to bend the horse inward on the longeing(lungeing) circle. The side rings are also used for side rein attachment or long line attachment. 4, record 18, English, - caveson%20bridle

Advanced Gradient Heating Facility(AGHF)... The AGHF supports the production of advanced semiconductor materials and alloys using the directional solidification process, which depends on establishing a hot side and a cold side in the sample(a temperature gradient). It provides an extremely stable temperature environment of up to 1, 400°C, high-temperature gradients of up to 100°C/cm in the solidification zone, slow movement of the gradient across a sample to provide slow growth rates, efficient cooling through the use of a liquid metal cooling ring attached to the sample container, and Peltier pulse marking capability. The AGHF consists of three modules mounted in one side of a Spacelab double rack : the Core Facility Module contains the processing chamber with the furnace inside; the Electronics Module contains the controls and equipment necessary to operate the furnace; and the Gas Storage Module contains argon for chamber repressurization and sample cooling. 2, record 20, English, - advanced%20gradient%20heating%20facility

The rotor of the air-driven gyro is mounted in a sealed housing. Filtered air is brought into the gyro housing through passages in the rear pivot, the gimbal ring, and the side pivots. The air then blows against the rotor through two angled nozzles on opposite sides of the housing. The circumference of the rotor is machined with dozens of little bucket-like cutouts which allow the airflow to spin the rotor like a waterwheel(but a whole lot faster). Having done its work, the air then exits through exhaust ports on the lower part of the sealed gyro housing, whereupon it is sucked out of the instrument case by the vacuum pump. 3, record 22, English, - gyro%20housing

Attitude indicator components (vacuum-driven). The rotor, mounted in a sealed housing, spins in a horizontal plane about the vertical axis. The housing pivots about the lateral axis on a gimbal, which in turn is free to pivot about the longitudinal axis. The instrument case is the third gimbal necessary for universal mounting. The horizon bar is linked to the gyro by a lever, attached to a pivot on the rear of the gimbal frame and connected to the gyro housing by a guide pin. 5, record 22, English, - gyro%20housing

The Ausroc 3(A3) launch vehicle has a liquid fuelled motor that burns JA-1 kerosene with liquid oxygen, and uses regenerative cooling. The motor produces 35 kN at sea level and has a burn time of 80 seconds. The motor is gimballed to facilitate pitch and yaw control. The wall of the combustion chamber, throat and expansion nozzle consists of 102 stainless steel tubes stacked side by side running parallel to the motor axis. The tubes will be brazed together and the assembly wrapped in a carbon fibre composite. The composite wrapping is used to relieve to tubes of the hoop stress generated by the combustion pressure(2 MPa), whilst the tubes contain the combustion heat(3500 K). The top end of the motor has a kerosene inlet manifolt, oxygen dome and injector block. The kerosene inlet manifold delivers kerosene to every second motor tube, where it travels down to the arse end of the motor. Here it enters the lower kerosene manifold which is a simple plenum ring. This allows the kerosene to flow into the other alternate tubes which deliver it back up to the inlet manifold. The inlet manifold then directs the kerosene to the injector block, which sprays it and the liquid oxygen into the combustion chamber. 2, record 23, English, - liquid%20fuelled%20motor

The extrusion head used in blow molding is one of three basic styles : the spider or axial flow head, the side feed or radial flow head, and the accumulator head.... The side feed or radial flow head is a design most often used for polyethylene. Melt enters the head from the side, divides around the mandrel, and rewelds. As the melt moves downward, it enters the pressure ring area, creating a tremendous back pressure that helps ensure the resin reweld. The head is used for its simplicity and ruggedness, but has the disadvantage of relatively long color changes. 2, record 29, English, - side%20feed%20head

1, record 34, French, - tubulure%20d%27%C3%A9chappement
