Thermo-osmotic energy conversion(TOEC) is an emerging process that efficiently extracts energy from low-grade heat sources. By utilizing a temperature gradient, TOEC induces a partial vapor pressure difference across a hydrophobic membrane. This pressure gradient drives the vapor from the hot feed side through the membrane's pores to the cold permeate side. The movement of water from the hot feed side to the permeate side of the membrane results in excess fluid in the cold reservoir, generating a pressurized flow that can be harnessed to drive a turbine and generate electricity. 1, record 1, English, - thermo%2Dosmotic%20energy%20conversion

A specific type of tenosynovitis which involves the tendons of two specific muscles on the thumb side of the hand-the abductor pollicis longus(APL) and the extensor pollicis brevis(EPB). These muscles are located in the forearm and their tendons travel across the wrist(through a "tunnel" termed the first dorsal compartment) on the thumb side to produce movement of the thumb. The walls of the affected tendon sheaths(basically protective coverings for the tendons) become thickened and inflamed. 3, record 34, English, - de%20Quervain%27s%20tenosynovitis
Record number: 34, Textual support number: 1 OBS
The precise cause of de Quervain’s tenosynovitis is unknown. It is thought that excessive friction from overuse of the thumb and wrist (excessive and repetitive gripping and grasping actions) may be a factor, leading to thickening of the tissues in the compartment housing the APL and EPB tendons. For example, cases have been described in bricklayers, those who sew, piano players, fly fishermen, and golfers. It has also been hypothesized that the condition in some cases may be associated with acute injury to the involved area (direct blow to the forearm or wrist, falling on the thumb). 3, record 34, English, - de%20Quervain%27s%20tenosynovitis

blackberry thumb: Experts caution that practical experience and emerging anecdotal evidence suggest overuse of personal digital assistants (PDAs) ... can conceivably lead to injury of the tendons and accompanying tissue of the thumb. "Blackberry thumb" is the latest colloquial interpretation of a very real medical condition called de Quervain’s tendonitis, and its variant de Quervain’s tenosynovitis. Register forms are merely continuous strip forms which are contained inside a box made especially for use with the forms. After the form is written upon, it is ejected from a slot in the top end of the box and the next form is automatically pulled into position for the next writing. The movement of the form up and out of the box may be done manually with a crank on the side of the register or with a finger lever on the top of the box or it may be done electrically. Advanced Gradient Heating Facility(AGHF)... The AGHF supports the production of advanced semiconductor materials and alloys using the directional solidification process, which depends on establishing a hot side and a cold side in the sample(a temperature gradient). It provides an extremely stable temperature environment of up to 1, 400°C, high-temperature gradients of up to 100°C/cm in the solidification zone, slow movement of the gradient across a sample to provide slow growth rates, efficient cooling through the use of a liquid metal cooling ring attached to the sample container, and Peltier pulse marking capability. The AGHF consists of three modules mounted in one side of a Spacelab double rack : the Core Facility Module contains the processing chamber with the furnace inside; the Electronics Module contains the controls and equipment necessary to operate the furnace; and the Gas Storage Module contains argon for chamber repressurization and sample cooling. 2, record 40, English, - advanced%20gradient%20heating%20facility

JUDO. A characteristic foot throw is de ashi harai [de-ashi-harai]. Tori first shifts uke's weight toward uke's left side. Using the bottom of his left foot, tori sweeps his opponent's right foot, putting opponent's weight entirely onto his left leg and without support on his right side. Tori sharply reverses direction of arm movement, wheeling opponent around and down in the direction of no support. Tori completes the throw by follow-through of arm and leg movements, pulling uke down as the swept foot is lifted, cross-body. A clean throw puts uke onto the mat on his back or side. 5, record 44, English, - de%2Dashi%2Dharai

A gait resulting from hip girdle muscle weakness. The lack of fixation of the hip by the weak gluteal muscles on taking a step makes the opposite side of the pelvis drop producing compensatory lateral movement of the pelvis. Very frequently the hip and back extensors are concomitantly affected, which explains the marked lumbar lordosis with protrusion of the abdomen seen while the patient stands or walks. This type of gait is seen in patients with dystrophic myopathies affecting the hip musculature, in spinal muscular atrophy, and in dislocation of the hips. 2, record 49, English, - waddling%20gait

Cut the sandwich bag down each side and wrap one end over the cross-bar of the clothes hanger. Use the clothes pins to fasten the bag to the bar.
