The Laser Retro Reflector(LRR), mounted on the owner's side of the payload module, reflects the laser beams directed to the satellite back to the tracking station. The two-way travel time is a measure for the distance between the satellite and the tracking station. Tracking information from various sites throughout the world provides the essential information for computing the ERS [European Remote Sensing Satellite] orbits. 3, record 1, English, - lasar%20retro%20reflector

Together with the large aperture magnet Goliath two tracking arms allow the spectrometry of charged particles. In addition two time-of-flight walls measure the velocity to provide the mass of each particle. Goliath is centred 3. 28m downstream of the target with a gap size of 1. 60m. It is a 1. 6 Tm dipole magnet bending the positively charged particles to the second tracking arm side, which is defined as the positive x-axis. 2, record 2, English, - magnet%20Goliath
