The image processing consisted in generating intensity images and one coherence image. To facilitate their analysis and interpretation, a coloured composition has been created with the results. This composition is obtained by adding the coherence image in red, the average of both images phase intensities in green and the difference between these phase intensities in blue. As such, a high coherence level(value close to 1) appears in red and indicates a very good phase correlation between the two images, a consequence of the various mechanisms of radar signal scattering and of the lack of change which could affect the target. On the contrary, a weak coherence level(value tending to 0) appears in black and indicates a movement in these zones during the 24 hours interval which separated the two image shots. Lastly, the white spots correspond to areas with a strong radar signal backscattering i. e. with zones of hills or vegetation. 3, record 3, English, - colour%20composition

In the last decades, imaging membrane potential has become a fruitful approach to study neural circuits, especially in invertebrate preparations with large, resilient neurons. At the same time, particularly in mammalian preparations, voltage imaging methods suffer from poor signal to noise and secondary side effects, and they fall short of providing single-cell resolution when imaging of the activity of neuronal populations. As an introduction to these techniques, we briefly review different voltage imaging methods(including organic fluorophores, SHG [second harmonic generation] chromophores, genetic indicators, hybrid, nanoparticles, and intrinsic approaches) and illustrate some of their applications to neuronal biophysics and mammalian circuit analysis. 1, record 4, English, - voltage%20imaging

Energy spectroscopy. For energy analysis the output current pulse from a PMT [photomultiplier tube] or from a semiconductor detector is often applied to a charge-sensitive preamplifier. The preamplifier produces a voltage pulse with a peak amplitude that is proportional to the total charge in the current pulse, which is proportional to the energy absorbed from the incident radiation. Amplifiers and filters are used to expand the range of the peak amplitude and to shape the signal from the preamplifier, a process that maximizes the signal-to-noise ratio for the system. For energy analysis the peak amplitude of the shaped pulse represents the information of interest. Discriminators and single-channel analyzers(SCA) can be used, following the signal shaping system, to determine the presence of certain energies of detected radiation. A discriminator produces an output logic pulse if it's input signal exceeds a preset threshold level. An SCA produces an output logic pulse if the peak amplitude of it's input signal falls within the energy window that is established with two preset threshold levels. 1, record 5, English, - energy%20spectroscopy

Test data can be viewed in real time and saved for post-processing. A safety system can be built into the test system. Indiana University Laboratory for Spectrochemistry. Plasma Source Mass Spectrometry. "Single-Crystal Scintillator-Based Array Detector for Sector-Field Mass Spectrometry, "[by] David A. Solyom. Beginning with the use of photographic plates in the first quarter of this century, array detectors have had a long history of usage in mass-spectrometric analysis. Array detectors are position-sensitive devices capable of independently measuring ion signals that are incident at different locations on the detector's face. Currently popular among the different types of array detectors available for mass spectrometry are microchannel-plate(s)(MCP) coupled with a phosphor.... The electrons emitted from the rear of the MCP strike the phosphor being held in close proximity(1mm) to the MCP. The phosphor screen is sensitive to the incident electrons and will emit photons in response. The number of emitted photons is proportional to the number of incident electrons and the location on the phosphor from which the photons are emitted coincides with the location of the incident electrons. The photons from the phosphor can then be converted into a proportional electronic signal by an imaging device such as a CCD or CID detector array. 2, record 13, English, - sector%20field%20mass%20spectrometry

Ionization interference is a problem in the analysis of alkali metals, which have the lowest ionization potentials. Ionized atoms have different energy levels from those of neutral atoms and hence the desired signal is decreased. An ionization suppressor is an element added to a sample to decrease the ionization of the analyte. The ionization suppressor is more easily ionized than the sample. 2, record 16, English, - ionization%20interference

Chromogranin B(secretogranin I or Scg-1) is a tyrosine-sulfated secretory protein found in a wide variety of peptidergic endocrine cells. Benedum et al.(1987) isolated a 2. 5-kb cDNA clone from a cDNA library of human pheochromocytoma. Chromogranin B is a 657 amino acid long polypeptide of 76 kilodaltons and is preceded by a cleaved end-terminal signal peptide of 20 residues. Chromogranin B was assigned to chromosome 20 by Craig et al.(1986). Craig et al.(1987) showed by in situ hybridization that the CHGB locus is on 20pter-p12. Jenkins et al.(1991) mapped the murine gene, symbolized Scg-1, to chromosome 2 by in situ hybridization and by interspecific backcross analysis. 2, record 20, English, - chromogranin%20B
