Radiometric resolution, or radiometric sensitivity refers to the number of digital levels used to express the data collected by the sensor. In general, the greater the number of levels, the greater the detail of information. The number of levels is normally expressed as the number of binary digits needed to store the value of the maximum level, for example a radiometric resolution of 1 bit would be 2 levels, 2 bits would be 4 levels and 8 bits would be 256 levels. The number of levels is often referred to as the Digital Number, or DN value. 2, record 2, English, - radiometric%20resolution

Piezoelectric quartz crystal, long used as frequency and time standards to one part in 108 or better, have been shown by King to be selective gas detectors when coated with various chromatographic liquid phases. Used as detectors, such coated crystals have several advantages :(1) sensitivity increases with solute or sample boiling point,(2) detectors selective to compound type can be made with response times of the order of 0. 05 sec, and(3) the output signal is a frequency which simplifies integration of peak areas and digital presentation of data. 1, record 5, English, - piezoelectric%20sorption%20detector

The unit of measurement of environmental noise is the decibel(dB). To better approximate the range of sensitivity of the human ear to sounds of different frequencies, the A-weighted decibel scale was devised. Because the human ear is less sensitive to low-frequency sounds, the A-scale de-emphasizes these frequencies by incorporating frequency weighting of the sound signal. When the A-scale is used, the decibel levels are shown as dBA. On this scale, the range of human hearing extends from about 3 dBA to about 140 dBA. A 10-dBA increase is perceived by most people as a doubling of the sound level. The smallest change that can be heard is about 2 to 3 dBA. 2, record 8, English, - A%2Dweighted%20decibel

The triode detector... incorporates a ring electrode, in addition to the normal anode and cathode electrodes, which separates the background current(positive ions liberated by vapor/metastable argon reactions or collisions) of the primary electron stream from the signal current. Basically, both detectors are similar to the simple device in design : their brass or stainless steel chambers function as cathodes; their anodes of the same material are supported coaxially within the chamber by a polytetrafluoroethylene insulator; both contain ports for introduction and escape of the chromatographic column gas effluent from the detectors; and each have a suitable source of alpha or beta radiation. 1, record 13, English, - triode%20detector
