A "RAW Signal Data" product contains raw or unprocessed radar video baseband data in complex in-phase and quadrature signal(I and Q) format as they are recorded by the spacecraft. The only processing performed to the downlink X-band "raw signal data" is the frame synchronization, meaning re-assembly of the data into contiguous radar range lines in matrix form, and the CEOS [Committee on Earth Observations Satellite] formatting. Each range line of data is represented by one Signal Data Record in the RAW CEOS product. 2, record 3, English, - %5C%22raw%20signal%20data%5C%22%20product
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 1 OBS
The RAW product can contain any single beam mode, or for ScanSAR any combination of different beam modes, depending on the operation of the SAR instrument during the data reception or recording period. A RAW product cannot, however, combine data from more than one beam mode, i.e. data from two different beam modes are always packaged as two separate products. A RAW product must be SAR processed before it can be displayed as imagery. RAW products are typically produced on 8 mm (Exabyte) tapes. This is the standard medium for exchanging data between network stations. 2, record 3, English, - %5C%22raw%20signal%20data%5C%22%20product

The principle of operation for the active hydrogen maser is based upon a 5 MHz quartz crystal oscillator, phase locked to the hyperfine transition of the hydrogen atom. The atomic hydrogen signal generated within the physics package is then picked up by an antenna in the cavity and coupled to the synchronization unit, which synchronizes the 5 MHz crystal oscillator signal phase to the hydrogen signal phase producing the 5 MHz and 100 MHz spectrally pure sine-wave signal output. 2, record 7, English, - active%20hydrogen%20maser

A special type of automatic gain control(agc) used in television receivers, whereby the negative bias used to regulate RF and IF amplifier gain is derived from the synchronization pulse portion of the video signal. By excluding the picture information as a means of establishing signal strength, there is no tendency to darken bright scenes or to lighten dark scenes. 3, record 16, English, - keyed%20automatic%20gain%20control

1, record 16, French, - commande%20automatique%20de%20gain%20%C3%A0%20cr%C3%A9neaux
