The high radiation levels... can affect electronic components by one or both of the following routes :(1) the slow accumulation of radiation damage over long periods of time as the experiment runs, leading to signal degradation or destruction of components, or(2) individual interactions of background particles(mostly high energy hadrons) with electronic components, causing large local ionization deposits that corrupt data("single event upsets") or destroy components("single event damage"). Magnetostrictive Level Sensors consist of a NEMA 6/IP68 tube which houses the sensor electronics, a magnetostrictive wire and a float with an embedded magnet. The position of the magnet in the float is precisely determined by the interaction with signal pulses in the wire. Float position is then converted to a 4-20 mA output in the current out version, or processed into a level measurement via the serial output in the S3LT version. 2, record 11, English, - magnetostrictive%20sensor

Because the O2 sensor must be pre-heated to function, many newer units contain a little 12 volt heater that brings it up to temperature sooner, offering better fuel economy and driveability earlier. These sensors can be identified by the number of wires coming out of the unit. Just one wire means you don’t have a heater. Those that have three wires use one for the signal, and two for the heater circuit. Those that have four wires use one for the signal, one for the signal' s ground, and two for the heater. In this case usually the signal wire is shielded against interference, much like common television coaxial cable. 4, record 13, English, - heated%20exhaust%20gas%20oxygen%20sensor

Most engines with a turbo use sensors with heaters because the turbo steals so much of the superheat energy as it uses it to pump additional air in the intake. Without the heater, the sensor should not get hot enough to give good readings, especially when the turbo is being used. The Suzuki 1.0 liter engines unfortunately do not employ a lambda sensor with a heater. 4, record 13, English, - heated%20exhaust%20gas%20oxygen%20sensor

3, record 13, French, - sonde%20d%27oxyg%C3%A8ne%20chauffante

Radio Fence is an underground electrical barrier which works with a receiver on your dog's collar. It beeps your dog when he nears the boundary and gives him a small electrical correction if he tries to cross it. It keeps your dog safe... Radio Fence acts as a hidden barrier that gives your dog access to the whole yard but inhibits his movements into unwanted areas.... A crystal-tuned transmitter plugs into a standard outlet and emits a radio signal that travels along an underground wire [which is] buried an inch or two [below the surface. ] The four-ounce receiver, worn on your pet's existing collar, picks up the radio signal and alerts him as he nears the hidden boundary that you have customized for your yard. If he crosses the boundary, he will receive a small electrical correction. 1, record 15, English, - radio%20fence

In this form of transport detector for h. p. l. c. [high-performance liquid chromatography], the eluate is deposited upon a fine stainless steel wire that has been cleaned by being heated at 850°C. The volatile solvent is evaporated and the solute oxidized at 700-800°C in air to a mixture of carbon dioxide and water. The oxidation products are mixed with hydrogen and passed over a nickel catalyst at 330°C to give methane which is burnt in a flame ionization detector to give an electrical signal that can be amplified and recorded. The detector gives a linear response over a wide concentration range [...] The sensitivity has been improved and the noise level reduced by using either a ceramic(kaolin) or ceramic-metal(kaolin and copper) coating to the wire. 1, record 18, English, - wire%20transport%20detector
