The first strategy [that is suggested to patients with obesity] for developing an active lifestyle is reducing sedentary activities. There are many ways in which this can be achieved..., and the strategy should be personalised on the basis of a patient's lifestyle and habits. For example, a housewife with obesity could be encouraged to reduce the time she spends watching TV [television], to take the stairs instead of the elevator and to clean the house alone, without resorting to a housekeeper. Similarly, a person who always uses a car to get around should be encouraged to use the car as little as possible and begin to get around by bike. 3, record 3, English, - active%20lifestyle

They can also work actively from within social, political or economic structures to challenge and eliminate oppressive policies and practices. 2, record 8, English, - ally

Ideally, an ally recognizes and understands their own privilege, which they can use to help those they have allied with. An ally can also experience discrimination in one area of their life, even if they have certain privileges in another. Climate finance is equally important for adaptation, for which significant financial resources will be similarly required to allow countries to adapt to the adverse effects and reduce the impacts of climate change. 2, record 13, English, - climate%20finance

2, record 37, French, - trouble%20neurologique%20du%20d%C3%A9veloppement%20li%C3%A9%20%C3%A0%20l%27alcool

Our automatic transaxle option represents breakthrough technology. Here's how it works : Imagine trying to run in soft sand. Your feet will ship a little and you will have to work hander to keep moving. Similarly, conventionally designed automatic transmissions have some interval hydraulic slip at all speeds. Our new automatic transaxle features "split-torque" design, which transmits power to the wheels both hydraulically and mechanically. At highway speeds newly all power is transmitted mechanically. Therefore, our new automatic transaxle delivers more power because of this mechanical connection and there's virtually no wasted power. 2, record 39, English, - automatic%20transaxle

2, record 39, French, - bo%C3%AEte%2Dpont%20automatique

A real difference in pathogenicity between HIV-1 and HIV-2 could be significant, and it would be important to determine its molecular basis. The two viruses infect the same populations of cells, binding the same CD4 receptor, but there are some differences in their genetic material and therefore in proteins. One of the most obvious is the presence in HIV-1 of the vpu gene, which is absent in HIV-(and in SIV, for that matter). Perhaps the product of this gene, a small 16-kilodalton peptide, enpathogenicity. Similarly, HIV-2 and SIV contain the vpx gene; HIV-1 does not. If this gene's 12-kilodalton product somehow slows the proliferation or spread of the virus or reduces its ability cells, that too could help to explain why HIV-2 and SIV appear to be less regularly pathogenic than HIV-1. 1, record 76, English, - vpx%20gene

Hoarfrost [is] a deposit of interlocking ice crystals formed by direct sublimation on objects, usually those of small diameter freely exposed to the air, such as tree branches, plant stems and leaf edges, wires, and poles. Also, frost may form on the skin of an aircraft when a cold aircraft flies into warm and moist air or when it passes through air that is supersaturated with water vapor. Hoarfrost is formed similarly to the way dew is formed except that the temperature of the frosted object must be below freezing. Frost forms when air with a dew point below freezing is brought to saturation by cooling. In addition to its formation on freely exposed objects(air hoar), hoarfrost also forms inside unheated buildings and vehicles, in caves, in crevasses(crevasse hoar), on snow surfaces(surface hoar), and in air spaces within snow, especially below a snow crust(depth hoar). Hoarfrost is more fluffy and feathery than rime, which in turn is lighter than glaze. Hoarfrost is designated light or heavy(frost) depending upon the amount and uniformity of deposition. 6, record 77, English, - hoar%20frost

These foreign banks are still participating in, for example, the Canadian dollar interbank market, but if they are based in New York, a trade with a reporting dealer in Canada would now be reported by that(Canadian) counterparty as a cross-border rather than a local interbank trade. Hence, local transactions with reporting dealers fell whereas crossborder transactions with reporting dealers increased. Similarly, if the financial institution that exited the market in Canada took some of its customer business with it, it would now be recorded out of New York(the United States survey) rather than Canada, since the basis for reporting turnover in the survey is the location of the trade. 1, record 84, French, - %C3%A9tablissement%20d%C3%A9clarant

Although we can’t directly compare sedimentation constants and molecular weights it is helpful to have a rough idea of the corresponding ranges. A value of 2S will be obtained for nearly spherical proteins with molecular weights somewhat over 10, 000; long, thin molecules having sedimentation constants of 2S may have molecular weights over 50, 000. Similarly, 4S crudely corresponds to a molecular weight of 50, 000 for spherical proteins, 8S to 160, 000 and 16S to 400, 000; the molecular weights of long, thin molecules with the same sedimentation constants are several-fold greater. 3, record 93, English, - Svedberg%20unit

Controlled pore support prepared by heating borosilicate glass to 500-700 °C, when it undergoes a phase separation. Subsequent leaching of the borate component leaves a porous support with closely controlled pore sizes. However, it is not suitable for industrial purposes owing to its high price and lack of stability due to the continuous leaching of silica from the particles during prolonged usage in continuous flow systems, especially in alkaline media.

The quantitative aspects of elemental electrospray mass spectrometry are investigated with particular emphasis on the factors affecting the ability to establish linear calibration curves. It is shown that linear calibration curves can be obtained for trace elements if the analyte signal is ratioed to the signal from a constant amount of a similarly charged electrolyte species. Linear calibration curves can be established over a concentration dynamic range of at least 4 orders of magnitude. The added component seems to function as a stabilizer and monitor of the electrospray process and as an internal standard. In certain cases species generated by acidification of the solvent may be used as electrospray stabilizers. 3, record 99, English, - electrospray

A standard movie, which is also known as motion picture, can be defined as a sequence of several scenes. A scene is then defined as a sequence of several seconds of motions recorded without interruption. A scene usually has at least three seconds. A movie in the cinema is shown as a sequence of still pictures, at a rate of 24 images per second. Similarly, a TV [television] broadcast consists of a transmission of 30 frames per second..., 25 frames per second... or anything from 5 to 30 frames per second for typical videos in the Internet. 5, record 100, English, - frames%20per%20second

4, record 100, French, - images%20par%20seconde
