TEMPERATURE MOISTURE PROFILE [4 records]

Subject field(s)

  • Atmospheric Physics
CONT

The total column precipitable water vapor is obtained by integrating the retrieved moisture profile. Using the radiance measurements in the longwave split windows, the shortwave window, and the 6. 5, 7. 0, and 7. 4 um water vapor bands, the derived product imagery is formed from pixel-by-pixel retrievals of atmospheric temperature and moisture profiles wherever the atmosphere is at least quasi-clear.

CONT

DEF

A snow profile obtained by excavating a snowpit at a recent slab avalanche release site.

CONT

Fracture line profile [is] a graphical representation of the components of a slab avalanche prepared by excavating a snowpit at the crown face and measuring a variety of snow parameters from the surface down at and including the bed surface(and sometimes extending to the ground). Typical parameters measured include time, date, location, weather, slope angle, aspect, slab dimensions, and include the snowpack stratigraphy parameters plotted at the appropriate depth from the surface in cm : density, hardness, temperature, moisture, fracture depth.

CONT

A fracture line profile showed that the slab failed on facets. [Example approved by the Avalanche Bulletin Terminology Standardization Committee.]

CONT

A fracture line profile revealed that the weakness involved dates back to November. [Example approved by the Avalanche Bulletin Terminology Standardization Committee.]

OBS

Fracture line profile [must be done] ideally within 24 hours after [the avalanche slab] occurrence.

OBS

fracture line profile: term officially approved by the Avalanche Bulletin Terminology Standardization Committee.

CONT

Subject field(s)
  • Weather Stations and Meteorological Instruments and Equipment
  • Remote Sensing
CONT

Her interest in history of meteorology is an ongoing project on the history of satellite remote sounding of meteorological data and the controversy over the use of satellite data in the operational weather forecast model.

OBS

meteorological sounding: Determination of the profile of the atmosphere at different altitudes, usually by means of radio or satellite signals.

OBS

remote sounding: The use of remote sensing equipment to observe and measure the characteristics of the Earth’s surface and various atmospheric elements.

OBS

Physical basis of remote sounding. A sounding is a vertical profile of atmospheric temperature, moisture or some other parameter. Soundings, including measurements of total water vapour content, total ozone, cloud height, cloud amount, surface temperature, etc., can be obtained from remote measurements of spectral radiance through carefully selected channels, often in the infrared(IR) or microwave regions of the electromagnetic spectrum.

CONT

In general we have direct control over the following process variables : feed rate of ingredients and moisture, screw RPM [revolutions per minute], barrel temperature profile.

Domaine(s)
  • Mécanique
  • Outillage industriel
  • Industrie de l'alimentation
DEF

Succession des températures dans les différentes zones du fourreau.

OBS

Le profil de température est un paramètre important, car il conditionne l'apport extérieur de chaleur fournie au produit et permet de réguler sa température.
