Models for the assessment of environmental impacts of air pollutants released in the vicinity of hills or mountains differ somewhat from the normal bi-Gaussian plume formula. Furthermore, there are two specific concerns associated with the release and transport of atmospheric pollutants in an area with complex terrain. First, the impingement of plumes on elevated terrain surfaces may result in dangerously high ground-level concentrations. Second, there is the possibility of unusually long periods of stagnation within the atmospheric boundary layer in lower, valley-like regions. 2, record 26, English, - complex%20terrain

Para las medidas de altitud, en función de la presión es el nivel para el cual la presión atmosférica es de 29,92 pulgadas de mercurio (76 cm de mercurio ó 1.013,2 mbs) y para la altura el nivel medio del mar. 1, record 64, Spanish, - referencias%20de%20altitud

A wireless sensor network(WSN) usually consists of numerous wireless devices deployed in a region of interest, each of which is capable of collecting and processing environmental information and communicating with neighboring devices. The problem of sensor placement becomes non trivial when we consider environmental factors such as terrain elevations. … Following a stepwise [sensor placement] optimization approach, we propose a crowd-out dominance search(CODS), which makes use of terrain information and intersensor relationship information to facilitate the optimization. 1, record 79, English, - crowd%2Dout%20dominance%20search

The MCS system provides the primary tactical planning tool for the brigade. Supported by graphics decision support tools, including digital maps, aerial or satellite photos, dynamic 3D "flyover" view of the battlespace, and mobility analysis of the terrain, map overlays with intelligence and battle resources by unit. Commanders can quickly and clearly analyze different courses of action and take decisions based on thorough analysis of up-to-date situational assessment, various maneuver schemes, doctrine, and changes encountered during the course of action. Once detailed plan is determined, the MCS prepare and send warning operations orders, and related annexes. During the mission, the system provides automatic updates of friendly/enemy unit movement locations and battlefield geometry. As all information is maintained on the database, re-tasking of units is rapid and flexible. As an integrated part of the battle command systems, MCS receives information from external sources and updates those sources within predetermined operational plans. Such sources include intelligence, fire support, supply status and air operations requests. 2, record 98, English, - Maneuver%20Control%20System
