1, record 5, Spanish, - gen%20desactivado

The therapeutic use of bacteriophages to treat pathogenic bacterial infections. 4, record 10, English, - phage%20therapy

Bacteriophages are much more specific than antibiotics, so they can hypothetically be chosen to be indirectly harmless not only to the host organism (human, animal, or plant), but also to other beneficial bacteria, such as gut flora, reducing the chances of opportunistic infections. They would have a high therapeutic index, that is, phage therapy would be expected to give rise to few side effects. Because phages replicate in vivo, a smaller effective dose can be used. On the other hand, this specificity is also a disadvantage: a phage will only kill a bacterium if it is a match to the specific strain. Consequently phage mixtures are often applied to improve the chances of success, or samples can be taken and an appropriate phage identified and grown. 4, record 10, English, - phage%20therapy

Record number: 10, Textual support number: 2 CONT
3, record 10, French, - phagoth%C3%A9rapie

Benzatropine is an anticholinergic medication used for treating Parkinsons illness and related conditions such as parkinsonism, dystonia, and akathasia. Its effects have been shown to have an effective and significant therapeutic value in the management of the symptoms of parkinsonism. It counteracts the effects of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine and balances the levels of acetylcholine and dopamine in the body, which may help reduce the symptoms of Parkinson's illness in its early stages. It can also be used to treat movement disorders resulting from the use of other antipsychotic medication. Aside from its anticholinergic effect, doctors have also observed an antihistaminic activity approaching that of pyrilamine maleate. 2, record 20, English, - benzatropine

[The] central nervous system agents [belong to] a class of drugs producing both physiological and psychological effects through a variety of mechanisms. They can be divided into "specific" agents, e. g., affecting an identifiable molecular mechanism unique to target cells bearing receptors for that agent, and "nonspecific" agents, those producing effects on different target cells and acting by diverse molecular mechanisms. Those with nonspecific mechanisms are generally further classed according to whether they produce behavioral depression or stimulation. Record number: 37, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Hemovigilance is performed to meet three objectives at both the local and national level: to identify risks and their related factor(s) and monitor these risks. The alert function cannot be dissociated from epidemiological surveillance because both processes involve evaluating the impact of the preventive measures in place. The incidence of risks must be estimated and their evolution followed up for each type of recorded transfusion-related incident. At the blood collection level which is part of donor selection, the goal of hemovigilance is to assess the relevance of various medical indicators present in individuals who wish to donate blood. At the transfusion level, the goal of hemovigilance is to estimate the incidence of transfusion-induced side effects in recipients (e.g. viral or bacterial contamination, alloimmunization transfusion attribution errors). The incidence and prevalence of transfusion-associated incidents occasionally justifies the distinction between the three elements of the hemovigilance strategy: the alert system, recipient surveillance and blood collection surveillance. 4, record 37, English, - haemovigilance

Therapeutic touch... is based on the belief that there is an energy field radiating outward almost five centimetres from the body. The flow of energy can be fast, slow, congested, pulsating, pounding, quiet or tangled. An experienced practitioner can feel and access [this] energy and... use rhythmic hand strokes above the skin's surface to smooth the energy field to a rhythm of harmony. Therapeutic touch is being used in delivery rooms, palliative care units and AIDS hospices. The College of Nurses of Ontario has recognized it as a healing strategy. [It is] not a cure and is only used as a complement to traditional medical treatment.... X-rays have shown that the callus tissue that forms around a bone fracture during the healing process is evident in two-and-a-half weeks rather than the usual six when therapeutic touch accompanies traditional treatment. 2, record 51, English, - therapeutic%20touch

1, record 56, French, - d%C3%A9ficit%20enzymatique
