The key idea in explaining the way in which structures evolve in the universe is gravitational instability. If material is to be brought together to form structures then a long-range force is required, and gravity is the only known possibility.... Suppose that at some initial time, say decoupling, there are small irregularities in the distribution of matter. Those regions with more matter will exert a greater gravitational force on their neighbouring regions, and hence tend to draw surrounding material in. This extra material makes them even denser than before, increasing their gravitational attraction and further enhancing their pull on their neighbours... 2, record 3, English, - gravitational%20instability

The primary aims for human-rated launchers are to carry the astronauts safely to their destination, and back again to Earth.... These are quite different requirements from those for an unmanned spacecraft launch system. Except in a very few cases, for these there is no need to bring the spacecraft back to Earth, and the consequences of an accident, while expensive, are not tragic. Historically the requirements for human rating were not specific. Basically, a human-rated launcher had to be demonstrated to be reliable, usually by several unmanned flights, during which all the systems on which the survival of the crew depended were tested, and found to work successfully. 3, record 4, English, - human%2Drated

A newer problem in document analysis involves assigning sentiments values (polarity and magnitude) to entities identified in a document. The term "polarity" is used to indicate a shape of the distribution or distribution curve; in other words, whether most of aspect ratings are : positive, or favorable(e. g., a rating of 4 or 5 out of 5) ;negative, or unfavorable(e. g., a rating of 1 or 2 out of 5) ;neutral(3 out of 5) ;or undeterminable. If the distribution is bimodal, there can be both a large number of aspect ratings that are favorable and a large number of aspect ratings that are unfavorable, with no clear majority, so that there will be both a positive and a negative polarity associated with the distribution. If a distribution is uniform, the polarity is undetermined indicating that the opinions associated with the aspect ratings were mixed. 3, record 15, English, - sentiment%20polarity

Virtual reality entertainment systems utilizing head mounted displays or other immersive devices or methods, whereby a participant views and interacts with a software-generated virtual reality environment have been used for training and entertainment purposes for many years. An immersive virtual reality environment as used and described herein refers to a computer generated graphical environment wherein a participant is "immersed" within the environment so as to provide to the user a sensation of being physically located within the graphical environment, although the participant is only electronically present with other objects within the environment. Therefore, an immersive virtual reality environment creates an illusion to the participant that he or she is in an artificially created environment through the use of three-dimensional (3D) graphics and computer software which imitates the relationship between the participant and the surrounding environment. 1, record 19, English, - immersive%20virtual%20reality%20environment

There are various forms of immersive virtual environments. Some, such as rooms or cabins(CAVEs), that offer semi-immersive experiences in which users can see virtual worlds projected on physical displays. Others, such as head mounted displays(HMDs), have more compact setup and fuller immersion than CAVEs, and have gained recent popularity due to improvement in hardware and software... Veterinary hospitals offer higher standards of service than normal veterinary clinics. At a veterinary hospital, services are often available at all times and there are full facilities for all kinds of examination, diagnosis, prophylaxis, medical treatment and surgery. Vet hospitals are also able to provide accommodation and nursing care for their patients and some can do it on a 24-hour basis, just like human hospitals. 3, record 41, English, - veterinary%20hospital

Because some bull customers want horns on their cattle, there are ways to manage horns to avoid problems. The oldest method is to use horn weights to train the horns to curve downward. Weights vary depending on the size of the animal and the horn and are placed on the ends of the horn and tightened with screws. A locking mechanism on the inside holds the weights firmly in place. Once the horn's growth is altered in the direction desired, the weights can be removed and the horns will resume normal growth. 2, record 64, English, - horn%20weight

The first strategy [that is suggested to patients with obesity] for developing an active lifestyle is reducing sedentary activities. There are many ways in which this can be achieved..., and the strategy should be personalised on the basis of a patient's lifestyle and habits. For example, a housewife with obesity could be encouraged to reduce the time she spends watching TV [television], to take the stairs instead of the elevator and to clean the house alone, without resorting to a housekeeper. Similarly, a person who always uses a car to get around should be encouraged to use the car as little as possible and begin to get around by bike. 3, record 65, English, - active%20lifestyle

During the voir dire, Dr. Marshall discussed delayed disclosure of child sexual abuse, based on his knowledge of the scientific literature in the area. He testified that there are many factors which can affect the timing of a complaint, including the relationship between the child and the abuser and the nature of the abuse. Some factors might discourage children from reporting abuse, such as embarrassment; fear of getting themselves or others into trouble; bribery or threats by the perpetrator; fear of being punished or sent away; disruption of the family; or fear that they would not be believed. Young children might also not fully comprehend what happened or not see anything wrong with the abuse. 3, record 80, English, - child%20sexual%20abuse

Researchers identify coercive controlling violence by the pattern of power and control in which it is embedded... The Power and Control Wheel... provides a useful graphical representation of the major forms of control that constitute coercive controlling violence : intimidation; emotional abuse; isolation; minimizing, denying, and blaming; use of children; asserting male privilege; economic abuse; and coercion and threats... Abusers do not necessarily use all of these tactics, but they do use a combination of the ones that they feel are most likely to work for them. Because these nonviolent control tactics may be effective without the use of violence(especially if there has been a history of violence in the past), coercive controlling violence does not necessarily manifest itself in high levels of violence. 3, record 81, English, - coercive%20controlling%20violence

The procedure is based on the principle that two digital radiographic images obtained under different time intervals, with the same projection geometry, are spatially and densitometrically aligned using specific software. When the two images are registered and intensities of corresponding pixels are subtracted of the gray scale values, a uniform difference image is produced, resulting in a new image representing the differences between the two, called the subtraction image. In this new image, if there is a change in the radiographic attenuation between the baseline and follow-up examination, all the anatomical structures that do not change between radiographs are shown as neutral gray background, while regions that had mineral loss or gain are shown as a darker or brighter area, respectively... 1, record 84, English, - digital%20subtraction%20radiography

For all we know electrons and quarks are elementary particles, which means that in no experiment has there anything like a structure of these particles been seen. They appear point-like, unlike the proton, neutron, nucleus and atom that have sizes that can be measured. It is, of course, entirely possible that particles that are called elementary today shall turn out to be composite; let it be said though that they have been probed quite extensively.... The aim is to know all about them, their properties and their interactions. The idea is that from this nuclear physics, atomic physics, chemistry, in fact, the whole physical world derives. Thus particles and their interactions are the very fundamentals of nature. That is the view now. An elementary particle physicist studies primarily these elementary particles and not the larger structures such as protons, nuclei or atoms. 1, record 94, English, - elementary%20particle%20physicist
