In IM-MS, ions are generated by pyrolysis, electrospray, laser desorption or others prior to entering a gas-filled mobility drift cell region. In this cell, ions drift at a velocity obtained from an electric field based upon their shapes, which allows for the separation of different shaped molecules. Therefore, IM-MS provides not only a new dimension of separation, but also shape information, because separation is based on the conformation of a molecule in addition to its mass. 1, record 1, English, - ion%20mobility%20mass%20spectrometry

The three main ways to win on the ground using grappling techniques include hold-downs, armlocks, and chokes. The offensive judoka attempts to win in these ways by scoring ippon. Only in hold-downs are partial scores(koka, yuko, waza-ari) awarded in addition to ippon. Therefore, a choke or armlock that does not make the opponent submit will not score points. In some instances, chokes and armlocks can be applied in the standing position, although doing so is rare because greater movement is possible by the opponent when standing, making it easier for him or her to defend and escape. Armlocks are executed by straightening the elbow joint, except for ude-garami(entangled armlock), which is performed with the elbow bent. 2, record 2, English, - armlock

Tidal gravitational fields lead to differential deflection of light bundles. The size and shape of their cross sections are therefore changed. Since photons are neither emitted nor absorbed in the process of gravitational light deflection, the surface brightness of lensed sources remains unchanged. Changing the size of the cross section of a light bundle therefore changes the flux observed from a source. The different images in multiple-image systems generally have different fluxes. The images of extended sources, i. e. sources which can observationally be resolved, are deformed by the gravitational tidal field. 3, record 4, English, - tidal%20gravitational%20field

Virtual reality entertainment systems utilizing head mounted displays or other immersive devices or methods, whereby a participant views and interacts with a software-generated virtual reality environment have been used for training and entertainment purposes for many years. An immersive virtual reality environment as used and described herein refers to a computer generated graphical environment wherein a participant is "immersed" within the environment so as to provide to the user a sensation of being physically located within the graphical environment, although the participant is only electronically present with other objects within the environment. Therefore, an immersive virtual reality environment creates an illusion to the participant that he or she is in an artificially created environment through the use of three-dimensional(3D) graphics and computer software which imitates the relationship between the participant and the surrounding environment. 1, record 11, English, - immersive%20virtual%20reality%20environment

There are various forms of immersive virtual environments. Some, such as rooms or cabins (CAVEs), that offer semi-immersive experiences in which users can see virtual worlds projected on physical displays. Others, such as head mounted displays (HMDs), have more compact setup and fuller immersion than CAVEs, and have gained recent popularity due to improvement in hardware and software ... However, users’ immersive experiences depend on, not only rendering/display performance but also interaction and navigation capabilities. 2, record 11, English, - immersive%20virtual%20reality%20environment

Optical see-through head-mounted displays(OST-HMD) find myriads of applications from scientific visualization to defense applications, from medical visualization to engineering processes, and from training to entertainment. In mixed or augmented reality systems, OST-HMDs have been one of the basic vehicles for combining computer-generated virtual scene with the views of a real-world scene. Typically through an optical combiner, an OST-HMD maintains a direct view of the physical world and optically superimposes computer-generated images onto the real scene. Compared with a video see-through approach where the real-world views are captured through cameras, it has the advantage of introducing minimal degradation to the real world scene. Therefore an OST-HMD is preferred for applications where a non-blocked real-world view is critical. 1, record 12, English, - optical%20see%2Dthrough%20head%20mounted%20display

Smart eyewear is defined as eyewear incorporating a near-to-eye display. As used herein, near-to-eye display means a display, device, or system, such as a retinal projector, virtual retinal display, visualization element, head-mounted display, heads-up display, or other near-to-eye system, typically worn on the head of a user that generates an image near the eye. In a smart eyewear configuration, a display device is often mounted adjacent to an edge of each of the wearer's eyes and an image is typically displayed in the center of each lens. The location of the displayed image, therefore, forces the wearer to gaze in a direction to view the image generated by the display. Typically positioned near the user's eye, the display is aligned to the central region of the user's field of view to allow review of the displayed information with little or no head movement. This enables the user to view the display while also viewing the area outside the central region and interacting with the surrounding environment. In another embodiment, the displayed image is aligned to a region other than the central region of the user's field of view. 5, record 13, English, - near%2Dto%2Deye%20display

Near-eye display devices are configured to present images to a user via a display that is positioned close to the user’s eyes. For example, a head-mounted augmented reality display device may be worn on a user’s head to position a near-eye display directly in front of a user’s eyes. A near-eye display may be at least partially see-through to allow a user to view a real-world background in combination with displayed virtual objects. This may allow virtual objects to be displayed such that the virtual objects appear to exist within the real-world environment. 6, record 13, English, - near%2Dto%2Deye%20display

Some papers selected single-arm space robots as actuators to touch and capture the target spacecraft in space. The in-orbit screw-driving manipulation by a single-arm space robot... can cause the rotation and translation of the target spacecraft. Since the target is a free-floating spacecraft that is not a fixed object on the ground, the target will have reactive translational motion and rotation when external forces and torques are applied to the target spacecraft during the screwdriving process. However, the translation and rotation of the target spacecraft can influence the control accuracy of the space robot, which may lead to failures during the screw-driving process. Unlike single-arm space robots, dual-arm space robots can use the cooperation of the two arms to accomplish more complicated space tasks effectively. Therefore, dual-arm space robots can be introduced to carry out the in-orbit screw-driving operation by the mission arm and maintain the position and attitude of the target spacecraft by the other arm. 1, record 23, English, - single%2Darm%20space%20robot

A rigid robot is a system explicitly designed to control motion or flow by overcoming the torque or effort reflected back by its load or task. This means for rigid actuation to be suitable, the task must be able to accept flow, or in other words, the task must be an impedance... Most environments, however, are admittances not impedances. They are kinematically constrained inertial objects that define flow and accept only effort... Therefore for a robot to effectively interact with its environment it must control effort, this is defined in the literature as "force control. " 1, record 24, English, - rigid%20robot

As a general rule of Canadian evidence law, the previous out-of-court statements of a witness or victim are not to be the subject of testimony in court. In regard to statements by a child who is not called as a witness, any statements made by the child to others would normally be regarded as hearsay and therefore inadmissible. Although the general rules about the exclusion of previous consistent statements and hearsay are basically sound, they can be problematic when applied to cases involving children who are victims of abuse. Not infrequently in child abuse cases, the initial disclosures of abuse by the child to a parent or another trusted person are graphic and highly revealing. Conversely, if the accused argues that a child has been subject to improper coaching or interviewing to make the allegations, [an] inquiry into the circumstances in which the allegations were first made can be vitally important. As a result of these types of concerns Canadian judges have significantly liberalized the rules about admitting this type of evidence, making changes to the common law that in some other countries have been achieved by legislative reforms. 3, record 38, English, - victim%20of%20abuse

With systemic racism, recurring discriminatory behaviours are the result of an underlying structure, a system with roots that are long-standing and well integrated in society. The acceptance and trivialization of these discriminatory practices within organizations often make systemic racism difficult to detect and dismantle. Underwater weighing, or hydrostatic weighing, is an assessment of body composition based on the determination of body density of densitometry. To determine the density of the body, the athlete is first weighed on land and is then submerged in a tank of water to determine his or her underwater weight... The basic premise of this technique is that fat-free mass sinks and fat floats; therefore, the more the body weighs in the water, the less fat within the body. 3, record 48, English, - hydrostatic%20weighing

Biliopancreatic diversion is primarily a malabsorptive procedure. The standard procedure involves the removal of part of the stomach(a limited horizontal gastrectomy) to limit oral intake and induce weight loss. The gastric pouch that is created is larger than that of gastric bypass or the restrictive procedures, therefore allowing larger meals, and patients remain on a less restricted diet than would the case following gastric bypass. Part of the small intestine is also bypassed by the construction of a long limb Roux-en-Y anastomosis with a short common "alimentary" channel of 50 cm length. 5, record 56, English, - biliopancreatic%20diversion

As food enters the intestines for digestion, the peptide hormone cholecystokinin(CCK) stimulates the vagus nerve to send a satiety signal to the brain. The vagus nerve is therefore sensitive to stomach distension and CCK levels, as well as other factors related to food consumption. It communicates these satiety signals to the brain, and reduces food consumption. Other satiety signals operate over a longer time scale. The most important of these is the hormone leptin..., which is released mostly from adipose cells... The more fat in the cells, the more leptin is released into the bloodstream. As for any other behaviour, behaviour analysis approaches verbal behaviour functionally. Therefore, the study of verbal behaviour examines first and foremost the conditions under which verbal responses are produced and their effects, rather than their form(e. g. vocal or written responses) or their structure(e. g. grammatical classification). Therefore, gestures, sign language, images or symbols selection and writing can all be used and taught to communicate and may fully satisfy the definition of verbal behaviour in the same way as vocal language. 3, record 60, English, - verbal%20behaviour

Base and superstructure are two linked theoretical concepts developed by Karl Marx, one of sociology's founders. Base refers to the production forces, or the materials and resources, that generate the goods society needs.... Marxian theory of history largely speaks about how the economy offers a foundation to social life. He considers that economy is defined by modes of productions [that] are characterized by factors of production that include land, industry, technology, labour, and capital. The factors of production necessarily define production relations. Therefore, Marx considers that production relation is an economic relation that offers a foundation to human society. 3, record 68, English, - substructure

In all cases, an automated blood cell counter calculates the number of cells in these areas to see if it is between the ideal range to ensure everything is perfectly fine. Being an ally is not simply a matter of identity; it involves taking action. Allies can take action in a variety of ways. They can advocate for the rights of those who experience discrimination or help support their needs. They can also work actively from within social, political or economic structures to challenge and eliminate oppressive policies and practices. 2, record 81, English, - ally
Record number: 81, Textual support number: 2 OBS
Ideally, an ally recognizes and understands their own privilege, which they can use to help those they have allied with. An ally can also experience discrimination in one area of their life, even if they have certain privileges in another. For example, an Indigenous man may experience discrimination as an Indigenous person but have certain privileges as a man. An Indigenous man can therefore be an ally to women. The greatest determinant of the condition of paper remains the integrity of the cellulose fibres. The cellulose polymer is prone to chemical and physical damage that weakens the fibre network on a submicroscopic level, eventually manifesting in visible degradation. The principle mechanism of deterioration is chain scission(the long polymer is reduced to shorter and shorter segments) ;as this happens, the paper begins to lose its physical strength and may become discoloured. As the aging of paper decreases the length of the underlying cellulose chains and therefore the paper fibres, papers that started with longer fibres can undergo further aging before losing mechanical strength. 3, record 95, English, - aging

3, record 95, French, - vieillissement

With the evolution of digital technologies over the years, solutions to record, store, and organize a lifetime of information and knowledge have become possible... However, the amount of information available to be stored and processed today is difficult to analyze and retrieve. To overcome this problem, a wide range of research fields can be explored, such as image and information retrieval, knowledge extraction, image understanding, sentiment analysis, and data mining just to name a few, which provide solutions to organize, process, and retrieve personal data. These personal data are also named as lifelogs and can be used as surrogate memory within a lifelogging system capable of organizing and managing these lifelogs... Therefore, the extraction of relevant information from personal lifelogs can be used to improve the quality of everyday life for people with memory problems or even used as a digital diary. 1, record 96, English, - lifelog
