Record 1 2014-05-23

English

Subject field(s)
  • Plastics Manufacturing
DEF

The process of applying a thermoplastic or thermosetting protective or insulating coating to enclose an article by suitable means, such as brushing, dipping, spraying, thermoforming, or moulding.

OBS

encapsulation: term and definition standardized by ISO.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Plasturgie
DEF

English

Subject field(s)
  • Plastic Materials
  • Plastics Manufacturing
  • Anti-pollution Measures
  • Waste Management
DEF

A thermoplastic prepared from trimmings or rejected mouldings that has been reprocessed in a fabricator's plant after having been processed previously in that plant by moulding, extrusion, etcetera.

OBS

In many specifications, the use of reworked material is limited to clean plastic that meets the requirements specified for the virgin material and yields a product essentially equal in quality to one made from only virgin material.

OBS

reworked plastic: term and definition standardized by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

French

Domaine(s)
  • Matières plastiques
  • Plasturgie
  • Mesures antipollution
  • Gestion des déchets
DEF

CONT

... a second object of the present invention is a moulding method by submarine injection or submarine gate moulding, without use of a roller, through the posterior central part of each impression of the mould, which makes possible the formation of the already defined thermoplastic part with the appropriate features for its use as a label or publicity support for use with certain surface ornamentation...

OBS

submarine gate: A type of gate used in injection moulding: the material is fed below the surface of the component ... A runner carries the plastics material down below the parting line of the mould and feeds, via a cone-shaped gate, into the cavity.

DEF
