A sprytron tube is a vacuum current switch that operates by applying a high voltage trigger signal across a thin carbon film coated on the cathode inside the device. The heat generated by current flow through the carbon film causes it to vaporize, creating an intense plasma resulting in current conduction across the biased cathode and anode. Chemical vapor deposition is the existing technology used to produce carbon films for Sprytron tubes. 3, record 3, English, - sprytron%20tube
