Leaks... fall into two basic types : internal leakage [such] as a thin oil film is built into the working parts of a hydraulic system. This lubricates the mating surfaces of valve spools, cylinder pistons, and other moving parts. Oil is not lost through this normal internal leakage since it eventually returns to the system reservoir. However, too much internal leakage will slow the operation of the system and waste power through the generation of heat. In some cases, it may cause cylinders to creep or drift. Or it may cause loss of oil control in the valves.... External oil leaks not only look bad-they can be expensive and hazardous.... A small leak can also be the signal for a hydraulic rupture that may injure a person while putting the machine out of operation.... Every joint in a hydraulic circuit is a potential point of leakage. This is why the number of connections in a system is kept at a minimum. Components can leak, but care in assembly and use of new seals and gaskets during overhaul will help to reduce this problem. 2, record 2, English, - leak

2, record 2, French, - fuite

Film Quality. The film flexibility of oil paint has several consequences. Oil paint can be used on flexible supports such as canvas, whereas the more brittle films of the older paints require a rigid support, such as a wood panel or a plaster wall... Because of the oil' s flexibility, heavier applications of oil paint do not crack, as do egg tempera or distemper colors. Therefore a greater range of textural effects, from thick to thin and from rough to smooth, becomes possible in the oil technique. The film flexibility of oil paint allows the building up of layers of paint, one over the other, permitting the artist to paint over parts of the picture, adding further subtlety or unifying the disparate elements in the painting. Oil paintings can become more complex than can pictures painted in older techniques, as the artist adds layer on layer of compositional modification. 1, record 4, English, - film%20flexibility

Horizontal Rotary Cup Oil Burners. This type of burner atomizes the oil by spinning it in a thin film from a horizontal rotating cup and injecting high velocity primary air into the oil film through an annular nozzle which surrounds the rim of the atomizing cup. This atomizing cup and frequently the primary air fan are mounted on a horizontal main shaft which is motor driven and rotates at constant speed, 58 to 100 r/s depending on the size and make of burner. The oil is fed to the atomizing cup at controlled rates from an oil pump which is usually driven from the main shaft through a worm and gear. 2, record 8, English, - horizontal%20rotating%20cup
