Les causes et les conséquences de la baisse de l'acuité. Cette baisse apparaît principalement de deux manières. Premièrement par obstruction, les ondes sonores n'étant plus transmises dans le conduit auditif (par ex. Bouchon de cire ou corps étranger) ou dans l'oreille moyenne (généralement à cause d'une infection). Deuxièmement elle peut être due à des maladies ou à des lésions de l'appareil auditif au niveau de l'oreille interne ou du nerf qui transmet l'information au cerveau.
