In general, the disclosure relates to a fall detection device that may be uniquely associated with a wearer. The fall detection device may predict and confirm a fall experienced by the wearer based on kinematic information of the wearer. In one example, the disclosure is directed to a device, comprising at least one kinematic sensor that measures kinematic information associated with a wearer of the device, the kinematic information including threshold kinematic information and fall event kinematic information, and a controller that analyzes the threshold kinematic information to determine whether a threshold indicative of a postural disturbance is satisfied, and determines whether a fall event is imminent based on the fall event kinematic information.... at least one kinematic sensor may include one or more of an accelerometer, a magnetometer, a pressure sensor, an altimeter, a velocity sensor, an angular velocity sensor or a gyroscope. 2, record 1, English, - kinematic%20sensor

2, record 1, Spanish, - sensor%20cinem%C3%A1tico

[A] device or [a] substance that indicates the presence of a phenomenon without necessarily providing a value of an associated quantity. Examples: a) halogen leak detector; b) litmus paper. [term and definition approved by ISO, by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM), by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), by the International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML), and others.] 2, record 2, English, - detector
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 OBS
1. An indication may be produced only when the value of the quantity reaches a threshold, sometimes called the detection limit of the detector. 2. In some fields the term "detector" is used for the concept of "sensor". 2, record 2, English, - detector
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 2 OBS
Do not confuse the three terms "detector", "sensor" and "monitor." A detector (in French: "détecteur") is used to detect the presence of anything liable to escape observation, to indicate any deviation from normal conditions, or the like; a sensor (in French: "capteur") gives a signal for the detection or measurement of a physical property to which it responds, it is a part of a detector; a monitor (in French: "appareil de surveillance en continu") measures or tests at intervals, especially for the purpose of regulation or control. 3, record 2, English, - detector

3, record 2, French, - d%C3%A9tecteur

[The] LLWSAS system... is marketed under the trade name LOLA, for low level alert. LOLA is a turnkey system consisting of an array of wind sensors, located on the ground, at and around an airport... The LOLA system is directed by a IBM central control unit with varied communications(VHF/UHF radio or land line) to interrogate the remote sensor sites at least once every 10 seconds. Currently, the two-minute running average of the centre-field site is the reference value from which the shears(at 15-knot threshold value to trigger the alarms) are detected. 4, record 3, English, - low%20level%20wind%20shear%20alert%20system
