A simple format of immunological assay is lateral flow assay(LFA) or lateral flow immunochromatographic assay(LFIA) in which a membrane is embedded with specific antibodies. Through capillary action, the sample is loaded and pathogen-specific antigens are detected by giving a colored line. Gold/fluorescent nanoparticles are generally used and embedded with antibodies on the membrane and give a clear line of positive results... 6, record 1, English, - lateral%20flow%20immunochromatographic%20assay

Upright Bucket Trap. The discharge of condensate from this trap is intermittent. A differential pressure of at least 1 psi [pound per square inch] between the inlet and the outlet of the trap is normally required to lift the condensate from the bucket to the discharge connection. Pneumatic systems are often compared to hydraulic systems, but such comparisons can only hold true in general terms.... Control valves are... a necessary part of a typical pneumatic system.... The control valve consists of a lever with two lobes. [In the off position], a spring holds the left poppet closed so that compressed air entering the pressure port cannot flow to the brakes. [In the on position], one lobe of the lever holds the left poppet open and a spring closes the right poppet. Compressed air now flows around the opened left poppet, through a drilled passage, and into a chamber below the right poppet. Since the right poppet is closed, the high-pressure air flows out of the brake port and into the brake line to apply the brakes. To release the brakes, the control valve is returned to the off position. 3, record 6, English, - control%20valve

It is based on the principle that if two electrodes are inserted in the ground, and if an external voltage is applied across them, there will be a flow of current through the earth from one electrode to the other. If the medium through which the current flows is homogeneous in its electrical properties, the flow lines will be regular and, in a horizontal plane, symmetrical about the line joining the electrodes. Any inhomogeneities in these properties will cause distortions in the lines of current flow. Such distortions indicate the existence of buried material with higher conductivity than its surroundings, so that it attracts the flow lines toward itself, or with lower conductivity so that it tends to force the lines into the surrounding medium. 1, record 13, English, - equipotential%20line%20method

Thermal Management. A moderate-temperature water loop is provided via a 1. 3 cm(0. 5 in) line with a quick-disconnect to each ISPR [International Standard Payload Rack] at an inlet temperature range of 16-24°C(61-75°F). The water is circulated through heat exchangers and stainless steel cold plates to allow thermal conditioning of the internal payload hardware. The water flow is controlled within the U. S. Lab and the JEM [Japanese Experiment Module] to optimize the heat rejection efficiencies of the system. The maximum return water temperature is 49°C(120°F). Inside a payload rack, an avionics air/heat exchanger assembly can be connected to the loop to remove up to 1200 W by circulating air. 2, record 14, English, - moderate%2Dtemperature%20water%20loop

"Piggyback" intravenous administration is a means of administering medication via the fluid pathway of an established primary infusion line. Features and Advantages : 1. Drugs may be given on an intermittent basis through a "keep-open" infusion. 2. The secondary bottle contains the medication; this may be single dose or multiple dose. 3. When desired, the primary infusion is clamped off and the prescribed amount of medication from the secondary bottle is administered. 4. A check-valve performs the following functions : a. Permits the primary infusion to flow after the medication has been administered b. Prevents air from entering the system c. Prevents secondary fluid from "running dry" d. Permits less mixing of primary fluid with secondary solution 5. Higher flow rates can be achieved by elevating either of the receptacles. 1, record 17, English, - %5C%22piggyback%5C%22%20infusion

Vacuum breakers are basically anti-syphonage preventers and should never be used where there is any possibility of back pressure. They fall into 2 categories : a. Atmospheric Type... b. Pressure Type... The atmospheric type vacuum breaker is designed for intermittent service only. It should never be installed with a shut-off valve on the outlet side. It should only be used where it will be under pressure for short periods(maximum : 12 hours in a 24-hour period), not under pressure most of the time. Typical applications are : a. Washing Machines; b. Lawn Sprinkler Systems; c. Photographic Developing Tanks; and d. Vending Machines. The purpose of this switch is to avoid overflowing the laundry tub when the automatic washer is discharging its water. The switch is installed on the drain line between the laundry tub and laundry pump. Head pressure from the laundry tub activates the switch. Simultaneously a flow of water forming a loop from the pressure side of the pump through the switch bowl and returning to the pump intake keeps the switch contacts closed.(Pump runs continuously). When the laundry tub is completely empty the pump suction line takes in air. This pocket of air travels through the pump and through the return pressure loop. When the air enters the switch bowl, the pressure gives way to the pump suction side, thus pulling the switch contacts open(pump shuts off). 1, record 21, English, - laundry%20pump%20switch
