This class implements MNP basic data compression to realize a net throughput efficiency of 200 percent on average. Class 5 uses a real-time adaptive algorithm to compress data. The real-time aspects of the algorithm allow the data compression to operate on interactive terminal data as well as file transfer data. The adaptive nature of the algorithm means data compression is always optimized for the user's data.
