Gaiting straps are put on a horse to keep his rear end in line. I’ve put them on trotters on both sides. Sometimes they’ll throw their feet out pretty wide into a wheel or the sulky, particularly on a half-mile track where they’re going at a terrific clip around the turns. A lot of good horses that I’ve raced had to wear gaiting straps over a half-mile track. A gaiting strap catches them up along the stifle and keeps them from throwing their foot out.

The air flows in the bottom hole, and the aerodynamics of the can suck the exhaust out of the top holes. This forms a vicious through draught, and the fire burns almost white hot in a strong wind! It also uses very little fuel. Fire temperature can be controlled by turning can away from the wind a bit, or by obstructing the inlet hole.

Two solar polar passes will be made, the mission ending in September 1987... The aim of the mission is to make simultaneous studies by both spacecraft of the solar wind and energetic emissions at solar latitudes above 70 degrees where the flow of fields and particles is essentially radial to the Sun and relatively simple in structure.
