Soft shells are lightweight, abrasion-resistant garments, that provide warmth, breathability, and wind resistance without a lot of bulk.... Face fabrics are tightly woven nylon or stretchy nylon and spandex blends. A tight weave will block wind, shed snow and light rain, and stand up to abrasion from rocks, trees, and ice. In addition, the fabrics are treated with a durable water repellency(DWR) finish to enhance their water-shedding powers. 2, record 1, English, - soft%20shell

1, record 1, French, - coquille%20souple

Cloths finished only on the face. Much resorted to on meltons kerseys and on other over coatings. The weaves used permit the type of finish not withstanding the fact that the texture is high and the interlacings tight. Plain twill and satin weaves are all used jointly in proper construction of the various face-finish cloths. Other face-finish cloths are bolivia bouclé chinchilla montagnac tree bark cloths Saxony overcoating and Whitney finishes 1, record 2, English, - face%2Dfinished%20fabric
