Compliance allows for mechanical "float" in the tooling in relation to the robot tool mounting to correct misalignment errors encountered when parts are mated during assembly operations or loaded into tight-fitting fixtures or periphery equipment.... Passive compliance devices such as springs may be incorporated into the tooling to allow it to float to accommodate very tight tolerances.... Active compliance devices with sensory feedback can also be used to accommodate tolerance requirements. 3, record 1, English, - active%20compliance

1, record 1, French, - souplesse%20active

Record number: 4, Textual support number: 1 CONT
One drawback of this approach is the problem of tolerance stack-up : when two or more parts are to be fit together, the size of their tolerances often determines how well they will match. Should one part fall at a lower limit of its specification, and a matching part at its upper limit, a tight fit is unlikely. Even if the parts are rated acceptable initially, the link between them is likely to wear more quickly than one made from parts whose dimensions have been centered more exactly. 1, record 4, English, - tolerance%20stack%2Dup

Record number: 4, Textual support number: 1 CONT
1, record 4, French, - accumulation%20des%20tol%C3%A9rances
