The CDPNQ's mission consists of gathering, storing, analyzing and distributing data on elements of biodiversity, especially those elements and element occurrences with the greatest conservation value. In 1988, the Ministère de l'Environnement set up the CDPNQ in collaboration with the Nature Conservancy of Canada and the private US conservation agency The Nature Conservancy(TNC). La mission du Centre de données sur le patrimoine naturel du Québec (CDPNQ) consiste à recueillir, consigner, analyser et diffuser l'information sur les éléments de la biodiversité, en particulier celle sur les éléments et les occurrences les plus importantes sur le plan de la conservation. Le ministère de l'Environnement mettait sur pied en 1988 le CDPNQ, en collaboration avec Conservation de la nature Canada et l'organisme américain The Nature Conservancy (TNC).
