The alternative to placing solar cells on the outside of the textile is integrating the cells within two textile layers or underneath the top layer and fixing it in place. By doing so, the solar cells are protected from external factors at the cost of lower performance due to the reduced amount of light reaching them. The textile can then be freely designed to ensure aesthetic appeal by concealing the solar cells [...] This approach is technically easier than integrating solar cells in textiles in the form of photovoltaic fibres or yarns or depositing them onto fabrics as thin layer films [...] 1, record 2, English, - photovoltaic%20fibre

One significant knowledge gap necessary for assessing ecosystem-wide impacts of restoration in... estuaries is a characterization of baseline lower trophic levels. These lower tropic levels are the lowest part of the food web where organisms such as plant-like phytoplankton serve as food to animals such as zooplankton in the water column. Other organisms of lower trophic levels include plant-like microphytobenthos and marine worms living within the sediments. These organisms form an important part of the estuary ecosystem [and] provide energy at the base of the food chain [that] support the growth of larger predators at the top[, ] such as speckled trout or red fish[. These] organisms also help to break down debris, put oxygen back into sediments, and can provide a biological window into the health of an estuary. 1, record 6, English, - lower%20trophic%20level

The lesser grain borer is a cosmopolitan insect, but it survives best in tropical climates where it attacks cereals as well as milo and sorghum.... The lesser grain borer is a much more ferocious feeder than weevils and what they do not eat they spoil. The female lays about 300 to 400 eggs and the larvae feed on the kernel remains left by their parents. At 34 degrees C, it takes 25 days for a complete life cycle. The lesser grain borer is a small brown insect with a cylindrical form, about 3 millimetres long. Looking at the insect from the top, its head is completely hidden by the thorax, which forms a hood-like cover. Pronounced knobs protrude from the thorax. 2, record 15, English, - lesser%20grain%20borer

2, record 15, French, - petit%20perceur%20des%20c%C3%A9r%C3%A9ales

A built-up roofing consists of plies or layers of roofing felt bonded together on site with hot bitumen. A protective surface coating of gravel or slag is sometimes embedded in a heavy top coating of hot bitumen. It is laid down to conform to the roof deck, and to protect all angles formed by the roof deck with projecting surfaces, and forms a single-unit flexible waterproofed membrane fastened to the deck by cementing and nailing. The simple principle on flat roofs is to turn the membrane up to form a skirting or base flashing on the vertical surfaces, making a large watertight tray. The only outlets from this tray are the roof drains to dispose of water. 3, record 27, English, - build%2Dup%20roofing

Restrictive cardiomyopathy(RCM) is a rare form of heart muscle disease that is characterized by restrictive filling of the ventricles. In this disease the contractile function(squeeze) of the heart and wall thicknesses are usually normal, but the relaxation or filling phase of the heart is very abnormal. This occurs because the heart muscle is stiff and poorly compliant and does not allow the ventricular chambers to fill with blood normally. This inability to relax and fill with blood results in a “back up” of blood into the atria(top chambers of the heart), lungs and body causing the symptoms and signs of heart failure. 2, record 30, English, - restrictive%20cardiomyopathy

Third, be very cautious about over packing the soil in the seed trench particularly on heavier soils. Garry says in very wet soils you need just enough pressure to form a trench over the seed. The importance of this trench is to reduce the depth of soil over the seed. If you over pack, especially in clay soils, you will get a smearing action over top the seed row that will bake, causing the seed row to dry out. This can exclude oxygen from the seed row which is essential for germination of all crops and nitrogen fixation by pulse crops. Meiers use a quick change mounted packer system. To flake your rope out, hold it(coiled) in one hand and, with the other hand, remove every coil, one by one. Toss each coil on the ground... one on top of the other. You should form a loose pile of rope... This way the rope will easily follow you up the rock, without tangling on itself. 1, record 46, English, - flaking

Using an avalanche cord is the oldest form of equipment-mainly used before beacons became available. The principle is simple. An approximately 10-meter long red cord(similar to parachute cord) is attached to the person in question's belt. While skiing, snowboarding, or walking the cord is dragged along behind the person. If the person gets buried in an avalanche, the light cord stays on top of the snow. Due to the color the cord is easily visible for rescue personnel. Typically the cord has iron markings every one meter that indicate the direction and length to the victim. 3, record 51, English, - avalanche%20cord

2, record 51, French, - cordelette%20d%27avalanche

Register forms are merely continuous strip forms which are contained inside a box made especially for use with the forms. The forms are accordion folded into "packs" and these packs are put in the register box with the first form to be written upon threaded up and over a metal plate which serves as a writing base or platform.(...) After the form is written upon, it is ejected from a slot in the top end of the box and the next form is automatically pulled into position for the next writing. The movement of the form up and out of the box may be done manually with a crank on the side of the register or with a finger lever on the top of the box or it may be done electrically. One of the principal features of the register is that after the form has been written upon, one copy is automatically guided into a container built into the bottom of the register. 1, record 63, English, - register

The Binishell pneumatic-form construction technique for bulk grain is another interesting development in concrete storage. In this concept, reinforcing steel is laid out on the ground, concrete is poured on top of it, and the pneumatic form lifts the whole "pie" up from the centre to its final dome shape. After the concrete sets, the pneumatic form is removed. This type of dome can also be erected with vertical sidewalls to produce a conventional bulk storage bin, with a diameter as large as 30 metres. Research is currently under way aimed at using this system to achieve air tight concrete bulk grain tanks so that nitrogen gas and chemicals could be used to enhance grain keeping quality. 1, record 77, English, - Binishell%20pneumatic%2Dform%20construction%20technique

Three-Wheel Roll Bending is a technique that uses three round-bend dies to form the tube. This style of bending is typically used for large radius bends and coils. The bend is created when the top center bend die is hydraulically lowered into the tube as the two lower left and right bend dies rotate in unison in one direction and then reverse direction when required. CNC versions of this machine allow an operator to alter the pressures during the bending cycle and thus create an elliptical shape or a bend with multiple bend radius. 1, record 82, English, - roll%20bending
