Pit sawing operations have a long and vibrant history. Well before circular saws were used to saw logs lengthwise, they were processed by placing them over a "pit"-hence the reference to "pit saw. "The saw operates vertically up and down. Operated by two men, a man on top, known as the "Top Dog", guided the saw as it was pulled down in a cutting motion by the "Underdog. "The "Top dog" recovered the saw and the "Underdog" then pulled it down in a cutting motion again. Needless to say the "Underdog" copped a fair bit of sawdust. The top of the saw has a fixed "tiller handle" so the topdog can guide it and cut a straight line. The lower part of the saw has a "block" which is easily detachable with a wedge. The block can be taken off to allow the saw to be threaded through the saw cut. 1, record 1, English, - tiller%20handle

1, record 3, French, - renard

Utilizing the DC3 chassis, the PNX-TL600 lavatory truck is designed to service all sizes of commercial aircraft. A man lift option is required to service wide body aircraft. The unit uses a two tank system for lavatory service. The waste tank and flush tank are separate components fabricated from 304 stainless steel and are baffled in both directions. A hinged cleanout cover is provided on the waste tank for easy access to the dump valve to remove impediments. The waste tank has a tray to store the waste hose and prevent spillage of waste onto the top of the unit. 2, record 5, English, - lavatory%20truck

Shiploaders are normally used in pairs with one man operating each loader. Grain is conveyed to the top of the shiploader and falls by gravity through a large spout into the ship's hold. These machines can normally swing from left to right, extend the boom and telescope and rotate the vertical spout. The operator, who sits in a cab mounted on top of the shiploader, can move the loader either up or down or backwards and forwards allowing it to reach into all parts of the ship's hold. Shiploaders are used extensively in many parts of the world. 1, record 7, English, - shiploader

2, record 7, French, - chargeur%20de%20navire
