A usage label used to distinguish highly technical or scientific terms as well as trade names from more widely-used terms designating the same concept.

For the purposes of the Termium II record, the assignment of such labels requires confirmation of a term's specialized nature by a reliable written or, when necessary, oral source. Specialization labels are coded as follows : JARG(professional jargon), TECH(technical or scientific term) and R(trade name).

Dans le jargon du Service extérieur (Immigration ou Affaires étrangères), désigne le fait d'affecter une personne qui n'est pas du groupe FS (Foreign Service) pour une seule affectation dans une mission diplomatique du Canada à l'étranger - par exemple pour quatre ans à Paris ou deux ans à Islamabad, soit pour la durée normale d'une affectation. Par la suite, cette personne rentre au Canada et est réintégrée au sein du groupe dont elle faisait partie à l'origine. La formation est généralement le but d'une telle affectation, mais il peut aussi s'agir de combler rapidement un poste vacant pour diverses raisons.
