English

Subject field(s)
  • Air Forces
  • Flight Controls (Aeroindustry)
CONT

The digital fly-by-wire control system [on the J8IIM plane] has been successfully developed. It mainly consists of such sub-systems as the flying control computer, the pilot sensor assembly, the accelerometer, the caution panel and trim interface, and the rate gyro, etc.

Domaine(s)
  • Forces aériennes
  • Commandes de vol (Constructions aéronautiques)
CONT

Le couple plan de canard et commande de vol numérique très en vogue à l'heure actuelle confère à l'Eurofighter une excellente manœuvrabilité.

PHR

Subject field(s)
  • Flight Controls (Aeroindustry)
  • Aircraft Maneuvers
CONT

The elevator feel system supplies feel forces to the control system. The feel forces developed will vary depending upon airspeed and stabilizer trim. The feel system contains two basic units : the feel and centering mechanism [and] the feel computer. The feel and centering unit consists of a cam, spring-loaded follower, two hydraulic actuators and related linkage.

OBS

The "feel" is what allows the pilot to know how much pressure is needed for system operation.

Subject field(s)
  • Computers and Calculators
  • Loads and Weights (Transport.)
  • Cargo (Water Transport)
DEF

A cargo distribution instrument (which is also a warning and safety device) for calculating water trim and longitudinal hull bending and shearing forces acting on a ship as her cargo is moved for loading and discharging.

OBS

The computer gives a fast and accurate evaluation of displacement, drafts, trim, stability, bending moments distribution, shear force distribution, cargo torque, etc. It allows simulation and prediction of loading and discharging.

DEF

Micro-ordinateur qui permet de contrôler les conditions de stabilité, le tirant d'eau et l'assiette du navire, de connaître les efforts supportés par sa structure et d'apporter les remèdes nécessaires.

Subject field(s)
  • Control Instrumentation (Mechanical Components)
  • Flight Controls (Aeroindustry)
CONT

Speed-attitude correction is provided by the Mach trim compensation system. Mach trim compensation automatically provides forces to the control column(elevator) to compensate for nosedown pitching moments of the airplane at high Mach number. Control column position is effected by the Mach trim actuator installed at the lower part of the first officer's control column control mechanism. The actuator receives command signals from the stability augmentation computer. Mach number is computed from pitot and static air pressure input changes to the air data computer(ADC-1). The air data computer shapes the information and transmits it to the stability augmentation computer where it is further shaped and then transmitted to the actuator to command control column and elevator movement.

English

Subject field(s)
  • Flight Instruments and Equipment (Aeroindustry)
CONT

The electrical flying control system is based on two independent systems, the Elevator Aileron Computers(ELAC) and the Spoiler Elevator Computers(SEC). The Spoiler Elevator Computer System... consists of a trio of computers, which will produce commands in the roll axis by operating the two outer spoiler panels on each wing; speed-braking in flight by operating the three inner spoiler panels; lift-dumping after landing by raising all ten spoiler panels; stand-by pitch axis control in support of the ELAC by operating the elevators and automatic trim, also as a stand-by to the ELAC, by adjusting tailplane incidence.

French

  • Instruments et équipement de bord (Constructions aéronautiques)
CONT

Subject field(s)
  • Aeroindustry
CONT

The flight augmentation computer [of the Airbus 300] determines trim settings, controls yaw damping and provides angle of attack protection, defining an ’alpha floor’ in all flight conditions. All built-in test circuitry is connected to a central master test panel usable in flight or on the ground.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Constructions aéronautiques
CONT
