1, record 1, French, - technique%20de%20dynamitage%20contr%C3%B4l%C3%A9

Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Prior to the 1880s, ships used solid ballast materials such as rocks and sand, which had to be manually shoveled into cargo holds, and similarly discharged when cargo was to be loaded on board. If not properly secured, solid ballast was prone to shifting in heavy seas causing instability. With the introduction of steel-hulled vessels and pumping technology, water became the ballast of choice. 2, record 2, English, - ballast

3, record 2, French, - lest

In the case of combat aircraft, designed-in lack of stability can offer faster turn rates, tighter turn radii and reductions in fuel consumption during manoeuvring flight, plus the ability to fly in unconventional attitudes(such as extreme angles of attack) or perform unconventional manoeuvres. The reduction in the energy required to perform manoeuvres comes largely from the decrease in trim drag involved in initiating the manoeuvre : the movement of flight control surfaces required to alter the aircraft's attitude is much less than is needed with a positively stable aircraft, and the actual control surfaces themselves can be made smaller. 1, record 3, English, - trim%20drag

Speed-attitude correction is provided by the Mach trim compensation system. Mach trim compensation automatically provides forces to the control column(elevator) to compensate for nosedown pitching moments of the airplane at high Mach number. Control column position is effected by the Mach trim actuator installed at the lower part of the first officer's control column control mechanism. The actuator receives command signals from the stability augmentation computer. Mach number is computed from pitot and static air pressure input changes to the air data computer(ADC-1). The air data computer shapes the information and transmits it to the stability augmentation computer where it is further shaped and then transmitted to the actuator to command control column and elevator movement. 1, record 8, English, - Mach%20trim%20servo%20actuator
