The "gear" of a bicycle relates to the mechanical advantage of the whole drive system. In a low gear, the pedals are easy to turn, but you don’t have to spin very fast to get any speed up. In a high gear, the pedals are hard to turn, but you have to spin very fast to get any speed up. In a high gear, the pedals are hard to turn, but you don’t have to make them turn very fast to make the bicycle go fast... The gear of a bicycle depends on the ratio between the sizes of front and rear sprockets, and the size of the drive wheel. 3, record 1, English, - gear

modulating fire. Varying the firing rate as the load varies. This results in longer burner operation because the firing rate is lowered as temperature or pressure builds up toward the cutoff point. It decreases on-off operation and increases the efficiency of the system. 2, record 2, English, - modulating%20fire
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 2 CONT
There are four widely used operating configurations for gas fired appliances : modulating fire, on-off, hi-low, and multi-stage firing. Modulating fire is accomplished by mechanically varying the size of the gas admittance opening of one or more special "modulating" gas valves. With the gas valve completely open the boiler fires at it's full fire rate. The unit is said to be at "full turndown" when it fires at it's lowest firing rate. The "turndown ratio" is the ratio of full fire rate to full turndown firing rate and is a function of boiler design. A turn down ratio of 5 : 1 would indicate that a boiler is capable of a full turndown firing rate of 20%(5 : 1(100% fire : 20% fire). 3, record 2, English, - modulating%20fire

2, record 2, French, - allure%20progressive
