Turnbuckles are used for adjusting tension in ropes, cables, tie rods and other tensioning systems, as well as for pulling together and pushing apart anchor points. Heavy duty rigging turnbuckles consist of two threaded bolts, each screwed into the ends of a metal frame. One side is left-hand threaded and the other is right-hand threaded, so riggers can turn the metal frame to push apart and pull together the threaded bolts. These threaded bolts come with a wide variety of end fittings and attachments including jaws, eyes, clevises, hooks and many more. All cable turnbuckles and turnbuckle hardware feature UNC [unified coarse] threads... 1, record 1, English, - cable%20turnbuckle

The CF34 inlet guide vanes(IGV) and the first five stages of stator vanes are variable, and the main fuel control schedules their position as a function of the desired VG [variable geometry] scheduling. The VG system has two turnbuckles for each of the 5 VG stages. Actual position of the variable geometry is transmitted through a feedback cable and the turnbuckles. 1, record 2, English, - feedback%20cable

Trees up to five inches in trunk diameter are normally supported by guying with the wires attached to stakes, these guy wires spaced at 120-degree angles. Wires may be fastened to the tree in the same manners already discussed, although in this instance all attachment point should be at least six inches apart. Attachment should be as high in the tree as practical and certainly at or above the lowest branches. Again, guy wires should be attached to stakes driven 18 inches into undisturbed soil. The axis of the stake should be in line with the axis of the pull on the guy wire. 3, record 3, English, - guying
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 2 CONT
Most large trees and shrubs require support staking or guying to hold them erect against buffeting winds. Wood or metal stakes are usual for single-trunked trees up to 3 inches in caliper and provide better support if used in pairs. Guy wiring with turnbuckles is used for anchoring large plant materials, and guy placement ordinarily follows either a triangular or rectangular pattern around the main stem. Both types of support require regular inspection for proper tauntness--up to a year for woody plants.... 2, record 3, English, - guying

1, record 3, French, - haubanage

Wood or metal stakes are usual for single-trunked trees up to 3 inches in caliper and provide better support if used in pairs. Guy wiring with turnbuckles is used for anchoring large plant materials.... All wiring should be shielded with either rubber or plastic hosing buffers where it contacts the stems to avoid bark damage and the creation of an entryway for insects and diseases into the trunk. A wire collar should never be left in place beyond its original need, since normal stem enlargement will engulf it and permanently damage the vital interior plumbing system. 1, record 5, English, - wire%20collar
