There are two versions of how the name originated. The first is that after one of the team's big victories a certain newspaper had intended to have as its headline ALL BACKS; intimating that the forwards were playing like backs; but a typographical error actually gave the headline as ’ALL BLACKS’. The other, and the one to which I incline, is that the name originated with the London ’Daily Mail' Rugby writer, J A Buttery, who in a paper-back issued after the tour, ’Why the All Blacks Triumphed’; said that he began referring to the team as All Blacks because of the colour of their uniform. 4, record 3, English, - All%20Blacks

Record number: 4, Textual support number: 2 CONT
Short-answer questions require the student to type words or numbers... A single-word response is much easier for a computer program to judge than the multiple-word response... Such questions are common in computer-based math and science lessons. The length of expected responses in short-answer questions should be as short as possible, both to prevent typographical error and to facilitate judging. 4, record 4, English, - short%2Danswer%20question
