Le Centre est situé au cœur des Cantons de l'Est du Québec. Il fut créé en 1914 sous le nom de «Station expérimentale de Lennoxville». Au début des années cinquante, la «Station expérimentale de Lennoxville» est devenue la «Ferme expérimentale de Lennoxville», pour ensuite prendre en 1959 le nom de «Station de recherches de Lennoxville» et finalement, en 1994, le nom actuel de «Centre de recherche et de développement sur le bovin laitier et le porc». En collaboration avec les intervenants du milieu, le «Centre de recherche et de développement sur le bovin laitier et le porc» assure l'orientation, l'exécution et la valorisation de travaux de recherche visant à améliorer la compétitivité des industries laitière et porcine ou présentant un intérêt national ou stratégique pour le développement de la société canadienne et de l'industrie dans un contexte de production durable.

An environmental protection compliance order(EPCO) is one of the tools under the "Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999"(CEPA 1999) that allows enforcement officers to handle offences without using the court system. Its purpose is to restore an offender to compliance with the CEPA 1999 as quickly as possible. EPCOs may be issued to : prevent a violation from occurring; stop or correct a violation that is occurring or continues to occur; and correct an omission where conduct is required by CEPA 1999 or one of its regulations, but is not occurring.

The International Whaling Commission(IWC) was set up under the International Convention for the Regulation of Whaling which was signed in Washington DC on 2 December 1946. The purpose of the Convention is to provide for the proper conservation of whale stocks and thus make possible the orderly development of the whaling industry. The main duty of IWC is to keep under review and revise as necessary the measures laid down in the Schedule to the Convention which govern the conduct of whaling throughout the world. These measures, among other things, provide for the complete protection of certain species designate specified areas as whale sanctuaries; set limits on the numbers and size of whales which may be taken; prescribe open and closed seasons and areas for whaling; and prohibit the capture of suckling calves and female whales accompanied by calves. The compilation of catch reports and other statistical and biological records is also required.

ISAS utilizes "aerodynamic lifting bodies" to conduct space research and observations, and is developing launch vehicles and satellites for such purposes. In its former guise as part of Tokyo University Institute of Industrial Science in 1955, the organization conducted the horizontal flight tests of pencil rockets, and as Tokyo University Aerospace Research Center, it launched Japan's first artificial satellite, Ohsumi, in 1970. These entities disappeared in 1981 in a "progressive amalgamation" under the direct control of the Ministry of Education. The head office of ISAS is at Sagamigahara in Kanagawa Prefecture, and the test range is at Uchinoura in Kagoshima Prefecture.
